Palin not picked

Vote 0 Votes

I saw this post on the Republican Governors over at Crooks and Liars and I hadn't read this info elsewhere - maybe I just missed it?

The Governors did not pick Sarah Palin for any role for their Leadership team. Maybe she didn't want one, maybe there was a good reason for it but, knowing more, it does seem like some kind of snub as they say here.

Also, they talk about two Republican governor up-and-comers: Barbour and Jindal. Again, without knowing more(I haven't been paying a lot of attention) - wow - they sound awful.

  • Haley Barbour has popped into my radar now and then, but has left only a terrible impression - I don't know much specific about him. This bit from Wikipedia is both disgusting and hilarious:

During this failed [1982] bid for Senator a controversy arose at a campaigning stump. According to The New York Times, in the presence of the press an aide was complaining to Barbour that "coons" were going to be at a campaign stop at the state fair. Barbour warned the aide, in front of reporters, that if the aide persisted in racist remarks, he would be "reincarnated as a watermelon and placed at the mercy of blacks."

The rest of his wonderful Mississippi career description is similarly inspiring.
