This is pretty much exactly how I see it. Except I would have added a few "fuck your religion, assholes!" here and there.

Wow! That was great. Thank you for posting this.
I only wish he had addressed the teaching children at school issue because that's what a lot of the ads were about and I think that's what got some people - at least, that's when the tide in the polling seemed to turn...
Good showing by Keith.
We could have used a few of these a week or two back though.
Progress on civil liberties is stopped dead in its tracks for a while.
Yeah, he didn't address the lies. Maybe he wasn't exposed to them as much as we were? Is he in CA?
It's true that we could have used something like this some time ago, but to be honest, I didn't think such a measure would pass (but if I could vote, I would have of course) in liberal CA. Everybody seemed perplexed by this, including Bill Maher and Stewart and Co. That's why I think the new Bradley effect (not so new, it happened in 2004 as well IIRC) is about teh gayz. It's disheartening too that black people voted overwhelmingly for prop 8. I would say ironic, but it's just too sad. And I am in the same position as Keith, even with less stakes, I don't think I even have gay friends, let alone family. I don't know if I could even imagine what gay people in CA are feeling right now.
Good for Keith - late, but better late than never. He was pretty wrapped up the campaign comments.
This and the Harvey Melk film should've come out sooner.
It's hard to determine a gay Bradley effect, but maybe it holds true for CA, where Melk encouraged folks to come out. Interesting that the NPR piece on the film was aired this evening, right after KO's commentary.
Keep looking toward the future for our GBLT brothers and sisters.
For those of you in NYC there is a march tomorrow in front of the Mormon Church.
Wednesday, November 12, 2008
6:30pm - 8:00pm
New York Manhattan Mormon Temple
125 Columbus Ave at 65th Street
New York, NY
The theme: Let's show up in big numbers and tell the Mormon Church to stop spreading their message of HATE !
Keith summed up my feelings very well.
CA has one liberal pocket (SF Bay Area) and one pocket that gets a lot of media play (Hollywood). Beyond that, CA is pretty conservative. In my area (SF Bay) it seemed the predominance of those holding Yes on Prop 8 signs were Latino. Maybe these were just the ground troops mobilized through their respective churches. Some of their signs stated "No on Prop 8 is against free speech." Where did they get this connection?
We must work to get religion OUT of civil law. This would include forbidding tax dollars to go to religious organizations to help the poor...soemthing, unfortunately, Obama endorsed.
Once again, Keith Olbermann expresses what all other people on the televised news are too careful to say. (except for Rachel Maddow.)
That was beautiful Mr Olbermann. Thank you.
I was talking to a client on Long Island the other day, and got into politics. We were both shocked that anyone would care about gay marriage other than gay people who want to get married. That people in other states would get involved perplexed us both.
But then he said something interesting: he was totally opposed to gays adopting. A strange perspective, coming from a proud Obama supporter and self-described liberal.
Food for thought.
If I were emperor, the state would have no say regarding marriages of any kind. Gay, straight, polygamy, whips and chains- as far as I'm concerned, its none of my business.
