I'm just curious of any of you have purchased a Kindle, and if so you think. If you are reading eBooks on another platform I'd like to hear about that as well.
It's no secret that I love mine, and I'm reading more as a result.

I've really been thinking of getting this for my father, what are the pros and cons? Are you(the user) an owner of the media, can it be moved around freely, or is it exclusively tied to the Kindle? Thanks Norm, I've loved this blog since it started. -Chris
I love my Kindle. As to the media, there are two possibilities. One you purchase it from Amazon in which case you can read it on your Kindle. They store it for free, even if you delete it from your Kindle you can download it again for free. You can also add any content you want from other sources. Text files, Word docs, pdfs, unprotected mobi formatted books. There is virtually no literature that is out of copyright that you can't get for free and transfer it to your Kindle. There are two ways to do that in the case of unprotected mobi and text you can use a usb connection and transfer it directly. In any case you can email it to your account and Amazon will convert the file to their format and automatically send the resulting file to your Kindle. The charge for that service is supposed to be .10 per document, no size limit I know of, but currently they are providing the service for free. If you have other questions just ask. I've nothing but positive things to say about this product. It's not perfect but damn near.
Now might be a good time to buy a Kindle if you haven't already.
