Not all of the contents have been released, but enough has been released to show that she used this email account for both government business as well as

This is of course illegal, nasty and Obama and all liberals will get blamed for it. We should condemn it. I mean really this is really theft.
So we must agree this is very wrong, but this is further proof that the McCain campaign really doesn't know what it is doing. Why didn't they advise the entire palin family to get rid of everyones web-based email accounts? Why did they not get the children's myspace accounts with all those embarrassing pictures protected? Why don't folks realize that Yahoo and hotmail are somewhat easily hacked? Either the selection was really unexpected or the campaign really does not understand the internet.
Don't public figures know that yahoo-like accounts are not supposed to be used for sensitive information?
This is also a reminder to me to upgrade all my passwords.
If you want to be safe, make sure to remove any of the questions to retrieve your password.
The easiest way to get hacked it for someone to get your account info and then click on "I forgot my account password" and they guess at the secret question.
Either disable this feature or make the answer a secret as well.

It seems someone has taken responsibility and the "hack" was not a hack at all.
He simply changed the password by answering her security question. Which apprently was "Where did you go to high school?"
Bad choice for a question when you come from a town with 1 school.
This was reported on Wired but I don't know authenticity of the report, or if someone is just trying to be in the limelight, which is probably more plausible.
Misstatement, the question was "Where did you meet your spouse?"
I'm not a fan of this either but - gotta say, when the government feels free to exploit our privacy, it's hard to be really sympathetic when someone from the government's privacy is violated.
Which reminds me - whenever I call AT&T it says your call may be monitored or taped, etc. Then, it says, if you don't want to be monitored or taped, just let us know. Makes me laugh when I know, outside, in the big world, I don't have the same opportunities to object.
I use Qwest. They never had and do not now monitor or tape any of their customer's calls. Cancel your subscription with AT&T... vote with your pocket book.
Good point - unfortunately, AT&T is my only option so far for DSL...
Hi Jill,
I have DSL Qwest. Perhaps this is not option where you live.
