We believed in you
And hoped the words were true
We're freedom loving people
What else could we do
But then you said "go"
When the world said "slow"
What we'd gotten into
We did not know
With the search for weapons
Of mass destruction

So we went to war 
Just like we did before
Didn't bother knowcking
Just kicked in the door
Then we hit the ground
And took a look around
With hope fading fast
As nothing could be found
Of all those weapons
Of mass destruction

All we want is to believe and for peace to reign
But with all the lies and body counts so high
Makes me think we're living Viet Nam again

Now it's a death a day
That's what we're having to pay
And if you have a friend or lover 
In harms way
Then I say to you
I hope your prayers get through
And soon they'll be coming home safe to you
From this search for weapons
Of mass destruction
