Coffee Cup

  1. Religion. Religion gains but one thing from science: an increasing knowledge about the universe that makes mockery of religious doctrine, forcing the faithful to revise their dogma while claiming that it was consistent with science all along.

  2. Science. Science has nothing to gain from religion, which is simply an annoyance that distracts us from our job.

If I've missed something, let me know.

But, but, but... MORALITAH!

Without religion's steadfast moral guidance, we wouldn't be able to maintain the divine right of kings, keep slaves in their place, make sure men remain the masters of women, and keep putting to death homosexuals, adulterers, disrespectful children and people who wear clothing with two different kinds of thread!

"The rich man in his castle The poor man at his gate. God made them, high and lowly And ordered their estate." C. F. Alexander (1818-95) I believe that the above verse is not included in the hymn nowadays, but it certainly was when I was at junior school! It certainly reflects the biblcal view (I Samuel 2:7)

Exactly! I wish I was a king with slaves, for one it would make doing my taxes much simpler.

Damn you science for taking my divine rights!

Jamy Ian Swiss amazes indeed...he must be a 6th- or 7th level Thetan.
