Keep science out of the political process? Science? I thought it was supposed to be the other way around; that the goal was the keep politics out of science.

Ugh, Skeptoid. Is Brian Dunning still denying climate change and thinks people buy organics simply because they hate corporations? The guy is a Libertarian and is only skeptical when things don't conflict with his Ayn Rand religious views.

I certainly didn't read everything on the site, but the articles I read were spot on. I actually paid good money for a speed reading course at the University of Utah only to find it was hokum. A classic example of having cause and effect reversed.

Not exactly AGM denier, but he does tend to say things like this. "..the earth is just way too complicated to understand, but Al Gore says he understands it."

I really hate the organic/ conventional debate. Both sides just talk past each other. Stateing that all food is made of Organic matter is sort of besides the point. And the assertion that pesticides and preservatives are without health repercussions seems sort of stretch based on evidence availiable. It's not immediately deadly or proven to directly cause cancer or other ailments, but that doesn't mean there couldn't be long term effects. Or even short term effects on ones feeling of health.

But none the less, We are always comparing the organic apple to a conventional apple.

But not a person that eats this http://www.pbs.org/kcet/wiredscience/video/102-whatsinsideyourfridge_.html and a person that does their best to avoid foods with synthetic ingredients.

In other words, eats more fresh ingredients, and perhaps likes to have those fresh ingredients without having them treated with synthetic chemicals.

feeling of health."????

To quote Boston: "It's more than a Feeling":

The book "Diabetes Rising" by, uh, well, Diabetes is the one disease that is strongly, rightly associated with modernity, not just pesticides, but TCEs, BPEs, BPAs, and the whole panoply of the Nude Eel's War on humanity via clever chemistry. The terrorists in this case are not the ignorant masses of religious idiots, but the most modern, educated class of clever scientifically literate dudes.

A little learning is a dangerous thing. A little more still more so.

What a tangled synthetic polymer we weave when we honestly try to create useful consumer products...

Drink deep, or taste not the Pierian spring: There shallow draughts intoxicate...

But because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold, not hot, I will begin to vomit thee out of my mouth...

Fasting and eating desert food, Mesquite, Agave, Prickly pear, is best. Bush fruit.
