Fox News Deletes Applause Sound from Obama Speech

It's even more blatant than this article says, giving the "benefit" of the doubt to FN.com:

Now, maybe Fox didn't intentionally remove the audience applause. Maybe Fox's video used a direct feed from Obama's microphone, and it simply didn't pick up audience noise. But if Fox didn't intentionally try to make Obama look silly, why did it choose a 2-minute clip -- out of a 32-minute speech -- that portrayed Obama looking silently around the room, seemingly for no reason?

Oh, but it was intentional. It was a plain, amateurish audio deletion. Head over to the Fox News page right now and see for yourself (at about 0:44). Raise the volume so that the background noise is audible. You can't avoid background noise with a microphone especially in a live setting; the whole audio was simply deleted. Or if you trust me, just see the youtube video someone captured:

Another video here.

Also, the video feed is edited, there is a just-careful-enough (to be blatantly intentional) cut just when the audio starts again, at 0:41 on the youtube video above, and 0:56 on the original Fox News video (which also doesn't match with the original White House feed). In the White House video you can see some of the audience applauding, but it seems they're different video feeds from different cameras anyway.

I guess I'm gonna have to find another source for my news. I've heard good things about this news outlet "The Onion".

FOX: re-writing history of today, one technological step at a time.

@gypsy sister, yeah, despite the fact that they're pretty bad at technology. Lucky for them there viewers are stupider than they are.

This technology step is pretty old, no? They just figured it out.

His presidential library is gonna be needlessly huge given that there would be a section full of the shit that Fox threw at him. If he wins another term, even the Grand Canyon would look small.

Fox news reported today, "oops"

My facebook feed is a pretty good news source.

This is how the pros do it.

Anyone remember the Black Panthers exercising their rights at courthouses and polling stations?

Nice link Syngas. 24h new stations are garbage. Better to shame people for watching cable news than Fox News.

The difference is that MSNBC are idiots because they didn't have to do that to prove a point. The racism can be evidenced otherwise. The black armed guy was mocked even on the Daily Show. MSNBC had a clear sensationalistic goal. What was Fox's goal? It's like they're just compulsively lying, it comes natural.

Obama has to tell people of the good plataforms he will be implementing. Some good news when we seem to be hearing much not so good news, the Consumer Confidence Index has gone up. Despite the stock market slipping the consumer confidence index is rising, which often doesn't happen. The two usually follow the same path. Job openings are one of the reasons that individuals are creating a better outlook for the future. Even though unemployment numbers are dramatically changing, the economy seems to be stabilizing. The only real downfall of this survey is it had been done between May 1 and May 18, indicating that the recent stock market drops may have changed people's views. Also the numbers of the consumer confidence index might not be valid anymore since the Korean Wars and also the European debt crisis have become worse since the survey was performed.
