These are probably the same guys that think gay marriage is a threat to their way of life.
This report hits the nail on the head - The macho male ego is so fragile that a strong woman or a outward gay man threaten their very identity and esteem.
I guess all through our formative years when they were busy calling me a f'ing queer it was just a cry for help. Poor babies. Like Samantha Bee, I feel no pity for them.
Frankly, this wasn't that funny (and I LOVE Sam B.). I don't think that men running large companies means that there isn't social confusion or unhappiness. There is a reason Fight Club hit home for my generation. Men were tired of being told lies about what should make them happy instead of being rewarded for being useful.
"YOU are not the car you drive."
Susan Faludi, noted feminist author, thought men were recently angry simply because women were achieving 'liberation', but when she did research she found...
"...that even in the world they supposedly own and run, men are at the mercy of cultural forces that disfigure their lives and destroy their chance at happiness. As traditional masculinity continues to collapse, the once-valued male attributes of craft, loyalty, and social utility are no longer honored, much less rewarded." from: http://www.susanfaludi.com/stiffed.html
And Sam B's response is 'stop crying and man up' when a man complains about not having any control in his household.
the prophesies say that in the end of days the feminine principle will be ascendant and the lion will lay down with the lamb. various new agers, sundry dirty hippies and yes, even fans of fight club might try to tell you that these are GOOD things. but you and i know better. grab a beer, pull up a chair, and let us toast the end of civilization as we know it.
:)
"I won’t calm down! Women are allowed to get angrier than men about double standards!"
I love Liz Lemon.
LMAO! What a perfect quote! (dang, now I have to go get my 30 Rock fix...)
