I remember Carlos Castaneda. Both my brother and brother-in-law were fans. There was something oddly appealing about the story. I argued at the time that it sounded just like other religious myths, updated for the we-like-drugs generation. My brother after a time reluctantly agreed, but I've seen my brother-in-law re-reading, "A Separate Reality," as recently as a year ago.

Damn that blue/green illusion is good! I stopped reading Bad Astronomy cause Phil just writes too much to keep up with, but things like these are why I still like it.
