Links With Your Coffee - Monday


In the interest of fostering rational arguments I'm going to present a common fallacy with each day's links. Today's fallacy is:

Appeal to Authority



Excuse my ignorance, but maybe someone can help me. What is the fallacy when someone says, "I'm not a so-and-so, but..." and then contradicts this. As in, "I'm not a bigot, but Jews are known to love money."


I don't think it's a fallacy, it's just two contradictory statements.

He was nuts, no doubt about it, but he picked a beautiful spot to decompensate! Iceland: the loveliest bankrupt nation in the world, I bet.

That road doesn't look so lonesome to me...!
