What is it with John Cleese and parrots?

If SNL was smart, they'd bring on Michael Palin before the election. The possibilities for classic and timeless skits would be many.
But SNL is apparently not smart, so I hear they're going to put on Sarah Palin, who is already a self-contained parody.
Good grief.
If SNL was smart they would get PAlin on and then have their commedians Ad lib a few lines.
Watch her freeze and stare off into the distance as she realizes she has no way of responding.
No, they would Practice a fake press conference all week, jokes preplanned and everything. Then, for saturday, bring in Jim Lehrer and several other real reporters to have an ad hoc press conference to ask her some of the questions she hasn't answered yet.
Now that's comedy.
"...bring in Jim Lehrer and several other real reporters to have an ad hoc press conference to ask her some of the questions she hasn't answered yet"
Best. Idea. Ever.
