A Book For You

The book is The Federalist Papers

And the winner is Manbeer

I'll take all requests for the book left in the comments during the next 24 hours, or so, and then use a random number generator to determine the winner. I'll then ship the book at my expense to the winner. The offer is limited to residents of the U.S. and Canada. My apologies to my good friends in other countries but the cost of shipments to other destinations is simply too high.

Note: The offer is open only to registered comments others will be ignored. Please make it clear if you want to be considered for the book or are just commenting.

Great idea, thanks Norm. Sign me up!

Norm- have you had a chance to read the anti-federalist papers also? I might suggest packaging them together for a nice point/counter-point.

I'd love to have one, please.

Add me to the list.

Oh yes, please!

Read it when I was a senior in high school... I've learned a lot since then. It would be great to own a copy and dip into it to see how I understand what "Publius" is saying now. I'm afraid that when I first read it I was the sort of callow, credulous kid who lets the weight of all that history, reputation and authority bend me from -- indeed shape -- my principles. Today I think I should read them for their historical significance, not as a touchstone for political thought.

In other words, I believe in Democracy today in a way that it seems clear that Publius did not. But without Publius' persuasive powers, this republic would not have been shaped and launched, the foundations for a democratic state would not have been laid.

Whatever. Please enter me in the lottery!

Book me. Danno!

Count me in please.

I like to enter.

To the original subject... Please throw my name in the hopper for the book. Thanks, Norm.

I'm in for the book.

if im not too late, id like to be considered

i'd be interested in the book. please count me in.
