Any time you feel like knocking Obama remember this: He's our only chance of having a non-retarded president. I will welcome not having to spit on the ground every time the name of my president is spoken. It will be refreshing to be able to listen to the American president speak without wincing in pain at his tortured syntax and malapropisms.

I can't get through more than a few seconds of Bush without feeling my blood pressure rise. He is, quite simply, a disgrace.

I agree that being rid of "proud ignorance" will be a wonderful treat. It's sad that we have to hope our next president isn't an intellectual disgrace. If our next president isn't Obama then either our voting system is truly rigged beyond doubt or our nation deserves to collapse into a third world failed state. But just because the opposition candidate is a war-mongering, word-bumbling liar - just as our current president is - doesn't mean Norm or anyone else should not question Obama and his promises. Being afraid of discourse is a horrible way of encouraging "Change."

I think the fear is that all the "discourse" before Obama is president will lead to him NOT being president; that, at the least, there hasn't been the same amount of "discourse" about McCain ---- or, even any discourse about McCain. And that that is what is not going to lead to any change at all - just four more years in our downward spiral.
