Charades reveals a universal sentence structure - being-human - 30 June 2008 - New Scientist
If Kim Jong Il plays charades, his hand gestures might look just like George Bush's, a new study suggests. It seems that, regardless of the sentence structure of their native tongue, non-verbal communication is the same across the globe.English, Spanish and many other Western languages build most basic sentences around a simple blueprint: a subject followed by a verb and object; for example, "mice eat cheese". Other languages, like Turkish and Korean, tend toward subject-object-verb construction, or "mice cheese eat".
"There's something pretty fundamental about these orders," says Susan Goldin-Meadow, a linguistic psychologist at the University of Chicago, who led the study.

RE: Bottles water debate
I'm not exactly an eco-hippie, but I would lie down in the gutter and let an old hobo pee in my mouth rather than buy a bottle of water every time I need a liter of fluid in my system. Buy a damn filter, or better yet, demand that your municipal water be fit for human consumption. If your tap water tastes like bum piss, rise up and be heard. On the rare occasion that I do purchase bottled water, I throw the empty on the ground so people will think that Evian drinkers are assholes.

Re. sexual hypocrisy and related forms of dementia, check out Crooks and Liars today if you'd like a belly laugh over what one neocon Christian org does with the word "gay." Hilarious stuff.
