So, yet another agency doesn't have the balls to stand up to the Bush Admin. At least there's no shortage of comedy material...
You know, if everyone bent over like bitches the instant I resorted to childish bullshit, eventually I'd probably start swaggering like an asshole everywhere I went, too.
Why the hell is everyone so afraid of going against Bush like good little "checkers and balancers", anyways? The guy can rarely, if ever, form complete sentences! Is the Secret Service going around putting a gun to everyone's head, mobster-style? "We's not gonna open dat e-mail, and if youse don't wanna scuba-dive wid concrete flippers, ya better wise up, capiche?"
This might be denial, but I don't believe this. This is simply unbelievable. The EPA changed policy because Bush refused to open an email? I need to do some research on this one.
And whomever is in charge of this over at the EPA needs to be charged criminally.
And Bush needs to be executed, after conviction of high crimes as misdemeanors. Note to the NSA agents monitoring this comment thread: this is not a death threat.
P.S. to the NSA: you all ought be fired.
It is denial – I confess, in contradiction with all of what we've learned from experience with the Bush administration, I thought, "This can't be true, this is just TDS having fun." Nope, it's true.
We've seen blatant data fudging at EPA. Bush lawyers editing scientific climate reports. Consider this: Oil at $142 per barrel, the dollar is in the tank, food prices rising rapidly, health care costs rising rapidly, college tuition costs rising rapidly, etc. Bush cronies permeate every department that has any politically sensitive role; even the justice department is riddled with corruption, law-breaking, and incompetence.
Here is the question: Is the Commerce department giving accurate numbers anymore? Is the CPI anywhere close to correct anymore? I just find it very difficult to believe that with energy prices at all-time highs (in "real" dollars) and all the other things I mentioned having undergone many years of steep increases, that the Bush administration would resist faking the real economic news - even as dismal as the numbers we do see are. I don't have specific evidence to support my suspicion, but the political motivations for doing so are obvious, and our experience has confirmed many times that political motivations are not just the first thing driving the Bush administration, they're the only thing.
Now, now, the people don't want partisan bickering. We need to find out who is really responsible and if crimes were really committed.
The we can retroactively change the laws they broke and immunize the law-breakers.
Let's put Dubya in charge of your health care Time!
Doh! I meant Tim ;)
Ahh, yes, Let's not forget the grand Republican strategy: To get elected, scream that government doesn't work. Get into office use taxpayer dollars to pay your cronies. After they steal the nation blind, point to the government and say, "See, I told you so, government doesn't work."
Government works just fine Tim.
Whatver John said that was bleeped - be it fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck! or what have you - that's the only appropriate response. Until this guy leaves office, life ain't taking an upswing. Sorry you Chicagoans with asthma. Sorry you folks on the Chesapeake Bay for the fisteria in your fish. Sorry pregnant women who can't eat maine lobster due to the mercury content. Sorry to those who don't dig the amazing L.A. sunsets.
Sit on President Obama when he gets elected - for the environment and the FISA bill (in response to yesterday's post; although I noticed the delay...). I've said before, the change needs to come from US. We can't count on our fearless leader to do the dirty work unless we pigeon hole him into the disaster spot.
I'll say this for Mugabe, HIS corruption took a couple of years to gather up steam.
