Baracknophobia

The Irrational Fear of Hope is Spreading

Comments

Wow - it never ceases to amaze me that Fox calls their show "News" and that people watch it.

Last week I spent a good hour convincing my mother that Obama wasn't going to elect the Black Panthers to his cabinet and start a genocidal cleansing of whites. Fortunately, she looks to me as an expert on the black community because I live in NYC and have a black girlfriend. Of course, when I started seeing this girl, I spent some time convincing my mother that she wasn't a gang member and that her family actually likes me even though I'm white.

And, a few years ago she thought radical Islam would try to kill me for making a movie mocking religious institutions.

I won't even get into her views on immigrants....

I've been really trying to get her to stop watching Fox News. It's so hard to re-educate even just one victim of their lies.

It's really remarkable how much the news media reports on themselves.

You know the internet phenomenon. "Obama Girl."

I realized the other day that i have seen all but her latest video but I have never watched her on the internet.

Where did I see her? The "news".

Same is true of these rumors.

Probably reached 2% or people via the internet and 40% of the people via news broadcasts.

Is this a case of plagiarism? Wtf?

Obama Forgets That Others Will Exaggerate

or just make up shit. Or maybe...Oftowe is the code name for BHO's radical Muslim twin. They were separated after Barack left that awful Madrassa school and started going by "Barry."

No, wait: Oftowe is the name of the white outfit BHO adorned when he was captured on film converting to Islam.

Aha! an anagram - woofet... Toewof (so much creamier than toe cheese). Fwooet (BHO ain't a muslim; he's scandanavian!!! radical liberal!).

Sorry, I'll stop now. The "news" casters sent me on a detour.

Baracknohobia from both the left and the right. Nothing new under the sun here. Just as John Kerry lost to George w Bush and Al Gore lost to Bush W Bush.

And Obama will lose to John McCain. And a great portion of the fucking Democrats will assure that this will be the result. (hi JillBryant!) ;)

Obama doesn't have MANDATES! I'm sure that John McCain's health care policy will better though.

Obama has it wrong on Israel! I'm sure that Hillary Clinton and John McCain are more measured as concerns this topic, sure.

Get used to saying, it, "President John McCain".

And when McCain is our president, any of you bitching about Obama should not complain and whine that Obama would have been better than McCain.

When we attack and obliterate Iran, don't complain because you asked for it.

Right about this time next year, we'll have John McCain as president. All of Obama's visions of "diplomacy" will be a distant memory. The U.S. will be deep into a war in Iraq. And why? Because Democrats were divided between Obama and Hillary, and because so many Americans would never ever vote for a Black man who doesn't understand the gun-toting white blue-collar white Americans.

And as usual, the right is claiming that Obama is practically a cousin to the terrorists. Certain members of the left are claiming that Obama is too right-wing as concerns Israel.

Get used to saying it: President John McCain.

So fucking sad.

Here JoAnn goes again.

wah wah wah...

we lose

I'm sorry RedSeven! Really I am. But knowing the majority of Americans and looking at the past elections, I can only say how I see it. The Democrats lose once again. No surprise there.

And when John McCain becomes the President of the United States, you'll all know that "Debbie Downer" was just reading the tea leaves. The Hillary Clinton diehards don't like Obama. The people who are uncomfortable with a Black man don't support Obama. Those on the left feel that Obama is too conservative. Those on the right feel that Obama is the most far-left Muslim, American-hating communist to have ever lived. I actually read the comment of a so-called "independent" on another website who said that Obama was a communist. Really!

Obama is screwed.

Get used to saying it, "President John McCain".

And to be clear. If Hillary Clinton were our nominee, it would be the same situation.

Democrats just can't get their shit together.

Get used to it, Joann has become a nattering nabob of negativity:+)

But knowing the majority of Americans and looking at the past elections,

You must have a very popular facebook page, knowing most Americans and all.

And you have reviewed some crosstabs on the opinion polls? Can you send those to me, I haven't seen the most recent ones.

nattering nabob of negativity

That goddamned Bill Safire .. why did he have to waste that wonderful alliteration on Spiro Agnew?

Get used to it, Joann has become a nattering nabob of negativity:+)

I am the nattering nabob of reality. ;)

That minority of liberal/progressive nattering nabobs also exclaimed that George W Bush would defeat John Kerry and Al Gore.

Anyway, this nattering nabob is telling you. John McCain will be the next president of the U.S.

Obama is ahead in the polls by, what, six percentage points? This man who most Americans consider to be some Muslim, and they feel that his wife hates America? And this is a man who is an anti-gun loving ultra liberal? Oh shit, no way that Americans will put this guy into office. McCain and Hillary are good friends, good comfortable Americans. Hell, McCain is boasting of his relationship with Hillary on his Website. Obama is a scary Black man. The majority of white blue-collary not-bitter Americans who love their guns and their religion will never vote for this crazy Obama crap. Won't happen.

And re "nattering nabobs":

I remember when people said, "What? how could the Democrat lose to the idiot who wants to continue the war in Iraq?"

Well, we did exactly that. Remember?

And remember that Americans put George Bush into office not only once, but twice! If we put GWB into office the second time (yeah, yeah, supreme court and shit, but it was still basically 50/50), whaqt makes you think that we're not capable of placing John McCain into office?

Hell, the Hillary Clinton supporters are not supporting Obama.

The fucking Democrats will lose yet another election, Supreme Court or otherwise.

The more that things change, the more that they remain the same.

But what the hell? Here on Onegoodmeove we've been quoting David Brooks as well as other such honorable journalists. Carry on! Fuck Obama! He's a leftist Muslim! No, wait, he's a right winger! No, wait! What the hell is he anyway? He's a narcissist, that's it! Not that anyone else who runs for office is a narcissist.... Oh wait?! Shit! Is he a Muslin communist or a narcissistic Cuban invader? Oh shit! Okay, we best vote for McCain. He's one of us. A nice blue-collar white man. Whew!! Dodged that bullet!

If only I could have been a Black Woman, life would have been handed to me on a plate. I would have been so fucking lucky! IF only!!

And re "nattering nabobs":

Texas is "leaning republican".

Even if obama were to lose, we will have overwhelming majority in the house and senate next year.

But i would give Obama the odds for the fall. Every time McCain says anything remotely attractive he will get attacked from the right. Republican turnout will be down, African american , youth and liberal turnout will be record breaking.

Is anyone close enough to new mexico to drive down there and give Annjo a hug?

Flying Spaghetti Monster, JoAnn.

Maybe you ought to just go outside once in awhile instead of waiting around here to make the majority of comments in any post order to drag everyone else down into your depression.

There's 20 comments in this post (21 after mine) and 11 of them are yours whining abut how McCain is going to win.

If anything, you seem like a shill / plant.

Take a suggestion, and chill out. Stop trying to drag everyone into your black hole of prophetic doom. I don't comment in here often, but your endless moaning and whining following every post is making this blog a pain to read.

And when John McCain becomes the President of the United States, you'll all know that "Debbie Downer" was just reading the tea leaves.

Actually what I'm going to think is migawd, Norm was right - we all should've voted for Hillary. I wish "Debbie Downer" hadn't given him such a bad time about Hillary when he obviously was right.

Joann, i too have been reading some of those hillary blogs. It can be distressing, do not read by the fault, it will make you psycho, but realistically america does not vote by the blogs. Most of america is not so obsessed with the primary and all this stuff. The race is not over.

My theory of the Hillarybots. I think we have had TWO ROCK STARS, TWO CHARASMATIC POLITICIANS WITH CRAZED FOLLOWERS. Her rallies at the end seemed as crazed as the Obama ones, I think at the beginning Hillary had not found her following and then she got it in the later primaries, as much as Obama. She gave out her own koolaid. So somehow the crazed followers need to take some antipsychotics in their koolaid. I think the dnc needs to talk about the contested primaries and review how they happened, i think Clinton and her group (ie lanny davis) needs to admit that they did not oppose the original desicion to take remove delegates from florida and michigan, and that it was not some conspiracy (unless it was??) to install Obama. The other issue is that Clinton and Obama need to talk about the negative things their campaigns did or did not do, apologise to everyone for some of the personal attacks and get on with it.

Now on a personal note, Joann, you need to stop reading blogs. You can read this one, but you must not, not ever, read any republican blogs, any of the crazed Hillary blogs, none. None of the comments on any website save this one.

I mean i was reading one of the hillary 44 blogs, they were saying that Iowa's flood and russerts death was due to bad Karma for what they did to Hillary. People were spewing hatred to Russert.

Reading this crap just makes you loose perspective. By the way, even if McCain wins, we will likely have a democratic congress and senate. Perhaps we will have a democratice senate and congress with balls. McCain, unless somehow he gets Cheney will not be Bush. FInally, i am pretty negative overall, but I still think Obama will win.

joann,

to help your fears, read this poll, read the whole thing, i think it is very promising, obama is thought to be better on economy, gas prices, taxes, etc. No real evidence that his unfavourables are rising. Still a close election but not looking like a lost cause yet.

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-srv/politics/documents/postpoll_061608.html

I had to laugh hard when Stewart mentioned "the only email your grandma has ever been able to forward." I spent a half hour on the phone talking my mother-in-law through how to attach a photo to an email and send it. I came very close to losing my cool and blurting out: "How is it that you can't grasp the simple 2 step process of sending an aemail attachment but you have mastered the art of sending news about Obama's Muslim America-hating won't salute the flag past? You're clueless in the face of the sending-a-photo procedure but everyone you know is getting their news about the Crips initiation murders right in the nick of time."

Joann, what's the point of repeating predictions about Obama's doom on the internet? So that people will congratulate you on your predictive skills after it's over? I can't imagine any other point in repeating this same thing over and over. When I hear people say they won't relax until Obama has taken the oath of office, I don't get the feeling they're out there working to make it happen, I get the feeling they're watching it on TV and don't like the suspense.

K,

Once again, you're right.

Dende Blogger,

Well, I was sure that both Gore and Kerry would be taking the oath of office, but they didn't. Okay, so it's not certain that McCain will win. It's also not certain that Obama will win. Who knows? But after eight years of GWB, I'm damned worried. Looking the the 5/4 split in the Supreme Court, I'm really fucking worried. Ánd you're right. I don't like the suspense.
