Colbert. I've never understood slams at the Post Office, btw, so those jokes never work for me. They get my important correspondence to anywhere in the country for 41 cents, completely reliably. In over half a decade of service to me, they've lost one piece of mail I've sent... I thought. Two years later I found it stuck behind a seat in my car.

Five years? You're lucky. In the past year alone I've had two letters lost completely, and several delivered to the wrong address.

That's enough to make one go postal.

Yeah, Colbert by a mile.

Five years?

snort Actually, that's true, since it happened just a few years ago but I, of course, meant half a century. I know they're an easy mark, but I've found them one of the most reliable businesses I ever deal with. Same with the DMV: they get a lot of abuse, but any trips I've had to make there since they instituted appointments (15 years ago?) have been under ten minutes for me, in and out.

My experience doesn't match the comedians' I suppose.

I'm one of those "inefficient" postal workers. Every day I spend my hours retyping mail that the machine can't read because of lousy handwritting or junk mail that's trying to be clever.

Anyway, at least we get the mail out on time, Leno has been delivering the same Lewinsky jokes since the 90s.

I am amazed for less than 50 cents I can put a letter in the mail and it goes to someones door in 5 or less days.

And the junk mail is easier to sort (i.e. recycle bin) than junk email.
