On The Road
A couple of pictures from my recent trip. The first was taken not far from Parker, AZ A blooming cactus, there were dozens along the side of the road. It was quite a sight.
Even the Josuha Trees were blooming. This one is just a couple of blocks from Harry Reid's hometown of Searchlight, NV.

Nice photo of your shadow, Norm. :) Something to think about when photographing flowers. I think that cloudy days are the best for photographing flowers. If the sky won't cooperate, try photographing flowers in full sun or full shade. Your camera's auto settings will handle the contrast much better if your own shadow isn't draped across the subject. Cheers, and I wish that I too could be out in the desert.
Oh yes, well it's actually my son's shadow, but I thought the effect pleasant enough.
Very nice. Spring in the desert is as close to miraculous as it comes. Breathtakingly beautiful. Thanks for sharing.
Welcome back!
Those are some very beautiful pictures. The fact that you let your son put his shadow into that first shot -- was that accidental, or intentional? (either way, it's a beauty). Great shot.
Straight forward scientific well-done technical depiction of a Joshua tree.
The picture of the cactus had a certain sense of composition and was thus more interesting.
looc!, cool colo(s),
Hot dam, take your Bouse,
lower Colo., McChainsaw country (formerly indigenousschwartzermedina*), the hills HEREabouts are as if strewn cheese... puffs, poppies, globe mallow? Did Mormons call him "Joshua Tree"? Arms all Ayatollah Paleovegetation, Big Sigillaria-looking (but no relation), like a Permian-Triassic forest, must have been high desert, to find the really big ones, when I first discovered Google Earth, the first thing I did was to check up on giant-prickly-pears I have known, across 5 states: zoom, amazing. Google street, google wilderness, monitoring...
looc it up(per)!
