Real Conservatives
Batshit crazy, and fucking nuts. You're going to love the 'official view ' on global warming. Here is an article from Salon making the case that McCain would not be the right candidate to address the issue.

they want McCain to grovel and their feet before they vote for him.
This is insane. DeLay isn't some fringe radical in the right wing... he's the former Majority Leader! They say Michael Moore is an extremist? Michael Moore is more centrist than this guy.
hahaha, "batshit crazy and fucking nuts!" . . that should be Tom Delay's campaign slogan.
but seriously, was he plastered in this interview? he looks tanked in this clip, somebody should get this man some coffee. poor guy can't hold his alcohol
...they want McCain to grovel and their feet before they vote for him...
Sure, and I hear similar sentiments from Ralph Nader regarding many (most?) Democrats.
John McCain should pay a visit to Delay - were there any justice in the world - in the penitentiary.
It doesn't really matter to me because I don't live in the states but I'm really enjoying watching these crooks being marginalized in their own party.
"That is arrogance to suggest that man can effect climate change."
Right. And it's not arrogant to suggest that "god" chose our tiny piece of dust of a planet to put his "chosen ones" on?
This is a really scary guy. Isn't there some law against complete nutters standing for public office?
Talk about a loaded question though. "Do you think John McCain should be a fraud"? I mean, seriously, is this journalism? It'd be hard to phrase a question less objectively.
Tim - if there were any justice in this world people like Delay would be publicly executed as the mass murderers they are.
I really hope the neo-cons keep this up. The more they say crap like this, the more Pandering McCain will go farther right, and lose independants. Neo_cons are insane, and the country knows it now, if we can just get McCain to align himself with them...
My sense is that there are limits to how far McCain will go to compromise himself, as the clip of him suggests. Being of leftist sympathies, of course there is a great deal I disagree with McCain about on policy: but compared to a Huckabee or a Romney, I do not find him alarming, in the way I find people like Bush or DeLay alarming.
A strange question: Did this clip--which is bat-shit crazy--make anyone hopeful? To me, it suggests what the primaries have already indicated: that the more extremist fringe of the Republican party appears to becoming increasingly irrelevant. They are free to retaliate by not voting--so much the worse for them.
Yes, I agree with Adam. My main response to the clip is just to marvel that a guy can actually say stuff like that and be taken seriously in this country -- for instance, he actually did seem to be okay with the idea of a guy driving down the street with a bazooka. But, on the plus side, McCain seems to be in quite a spot. He can't very well appeal to both these conservative wing-nuts and get any traction with independents at the same time. Something's gotta give, it would seem. (Although, I find it hard to believe that, when it comes right down to it, he and she-who-must-not-be-named, A.C., would really be bull-headed and stupid enough [from their perspective] to not vote or vote for Hillary or Barack instead of McCain. Would that it were true.)
Tom Delay, the creationist who believes the universe was created in six days, rejects the science behind climate change. Batshit crazy indeed.
Nyah nyah nyah nyah nyah nyah! I'm more conservative than McCai--n!
Is that all the neo-cons got? OK, besides some fundie tripe?
Yes, Adam, this clip makes me hopeful. The GOP is going down this time.
Was Delay drunk? No, seriously! His speech and mannerisms, and of course his train of thought.
I thought The Hammer appeared to hammered.
Just me.
If so, he has fallen off the wagon. I heard the asshole interviewed on NPR a few months ago and his sobriety was one of the subjects of the interview.
I laughed out loud at that, thanks Norm!
I'm pretty sure he's drunk.... you'd have to be be at CPAC...
It was only within the last 15 years that you couldn't drive around in your truck, with your gun in one hand and a 40 in the other, just emptied bottles all around the floor and along the side of the road.
It's also funny he talks about pornography, since he was known to cheat on his wife and also hang out at gentlemen's clubs in D.C.
Remember the scandal involving the congress, the CIA assistant, and hookers?
Why are they still letting him on TV?!?
Chris Matthews, I hate you.
Chris Matthews can do a good interview from time to time. "Driving in a Hummer with a bazooka out the window". That's great.
Having Tom Delay floating around our political world and making demands on presumptive nominees is like the guy from the office fired for sexual harrassment coming back to work drunk and ordering people around. There's a reason why Delay is not in politics anymore, and the reason does not reflect well on him.
"he's the former Majority Leader!"
Yep, it's pretty scary that our system gave a guy this deranged and corrupt that much power. Then again, it's because of his criminal reign in Congress that the Republican revolution only lasted 12 years. If you're going to use a Hammer to do your dirty work for you, you can't just leave him in there. Remiro d'Orco.
The conservatives are doing the smart thing, acting very important and throwing a tantrum. As a Democrat I hope McCain takes their advice and spends the next 6 months showing how much he likes their insane ideas. I don't care how much independents like him now, let's see how much they like him when he's been seen wearing the GOP banner for a while.
McCain is to the right of the country on gun control, but now he supposed to tilt starboard on that issue, even though over 70% of Republicans already approve of him. McCain is on top now, with a relatively decent chance to win; if I were him and had that pissy streak like he does I'd take this opportunity to tell the haters where to go.
I've always though this jerk off had to be a real shitbag, but in the past I've only read about him. Now, having seen video of him and heard his voice I'm sure he's as much a boozer / loser as our dim bulb of a president. I'd like to see him locked in a battle of wits with a pretzel or crashing his bicycle into his security guards as shrub has, great fun for all. Now, if only we could see some tape on herr Karl Rove, and get to watch that fat fuck try to justify the grief he's brought to this country, then my day would be complete. http://boskolives.wordpress.com/
