Onegoodmove Endorses . . .
There are good reasons to vote for Hillary, and there are good reasons to vote for Barack. I haven't decided who I'll vote for tomorrow and given my mixed feelings on the candidates I choose not to endorse either at this time. The campaign is still in its early stages and I don't think tomorrow will be decisive for either candidate. I may at a later date choose one or the other to officially endorse but not now. So flip your own damn coin tomorrow and make the choice you believe is the correct one. The real choice comes in November and that will be an easy one.

"The real choice comes in November and that will be an easy one."
indeed it will be. let's just hope at least 51% of all the other voters feel the same way.
I don't want to influence your (barack) decision (barack) but I would suggest (barack) you look at the current polls that (barack) suggest one of the democratic (barack) candidates stands a better chance of (barack) beating McCain.
I'm just saying. ;)
Super J.
Norm, I've really enjoyed your site for a couple of years now and more recently to be a part of the conversation. I appreciate your openness and although I sometimes wonder about the items you choose to post here, whatever it is always gets a rise out of folks one way or another. May we all live to see a Dem in office and holding the majority in congress in '09. cheers!
Keep your on secrets, Norm. I find the veneer of impartiality pleasing.
As a obvious partisan I can comfortably--and sanely, Chuck, you overeducated @#$&-- say this country needs real, fundamental change.
Vote Intelligent! Vote Inspiration! Vote Wisdom! Vote Strength! Vote Integrity!
Two step solution to a better America;
1) Vote Obama 2) Go out and do actual work to better your community.
Senator Obama's greatest strength comes from his ability to inspire action; THAT IS THE GIFT OF HOPE.
Obama 08
Norm, you tease!
My reasons for not voting with Hillary (nearly 1,000 comments!) are here:

My direct action to take in the morning if you support Obama:

From Obama's concession speech in New Hampshire (when was the last time you heard such an impassioned CONCESSION speech?):
"We know the battle ahead will be long, but always remember that no matter what obstacles stand in our way, nothing can withstand the power of millions of voices calling for change. We have been told we cannot do this by a chorus of cynics who will only grow louder and more dissonant in the weeks to come.
We've been asked to pause for a reality check. We've been warned against offering the people of this nation false hope.
"But in the unlikely story that is America, there has never been anything false about hope. For when we have faced down impossible odds; when we've been told that we're not ready, or that we shouldn't try, or that we can't, generations of Americans have responded with a simple creed that sums up the spirit of a people:
"Yes we can."
Yes, we can vote someone into office who has the power to move so many people from so many walks of life. Move them to think. Move them to act. Move them to make tough choices. Move them to concede difficult sacrifices for the sake of the common or greater good.
No other candidate can offer what he offers, or what we need right now.
Yes, we can do this. We just need to vote.
OBAMA!
lol
Here we are talking about crowd psychology, and Norm's going to be in the midst of the biggest pro-Romney riot in the country tomorrow. Take care of yourself, Norm; don't get kidnapped and forced to vote Mitt. Wear your Huckabee attire just to get a rise out of them.
i think i said this in a previous thread and i appreciate this website too much to try to sway over who you should vote for. Looks like you just have to ask your gut, your brain, and your head what to do and follow the majority.
Vote early, vote often.
Yeah, like how he was saying he thought a lot of Obama supporters were prone to committing insulting attacks, I can now safely say that this notion is complete nonsense. Thanks.
While his ability to inspire people to vote (for him) is definitely interesting, and while I would be very happy if Obama turns out to produce actual "changes" to be "hopeful" about, in the meantime I couldn't care less about what Obama has to say regarding "hope".
Believe it or not, once upon a time the US President was supposed to be responsible for certain things. The position has nothing to do with any sort of "inspiring people" bullshit. So I try to look past the crap, and instead determine which candidate is going to fuck the US and the world, the least.
I think, overall, Obama would make a slightly better President than Hillary. That is why I support him.
Eeeasy now. Was that really necessary?
I must say I am enjoying this presidential race at the moment, and enjoying reading this blog.
I'm saying this as a foreigner who a) doesn't get to vote and b) doesn't live in the US :-)

I support Hillary. This is an interesting perspective.

I support Hillary for the Dem nomination.
Why? Because this is the only possible way for Ron Paul to run 3rd party and win on some fluke.
Want the whitehouse? Obama can bring you there.
Hillary v. McCain is a 51/49 coin flip. I don't want McCain. I don't want Hillary. Obama I can deal with.
Give your readers more credit for some independent thinking Norm.
I voted early and all I got was a lousy Edwards vote :P
AS we think about which candidate will be the best president I always fall back to the old addage, "Follow the Money." although in elections you "follow the Votes."
Presidents start their re-election campaign before the serve their first day. Obama and Hillary will make the calculation that they need to keep the constituencies that put them over the top.
SO the question to us is really, do you want a presidency that caters to the young, African Americans, and liberals, or one that caters to women, republican women in particular, and lobbyist funders.
"'THAT IS THE GIFT OF HOPE.'
Eeeasy now. Was that really necessary?"
LOL
Been visiting your site for many years from Belgium... I feel so sad that the only true candidate is not an option... Let's see how Billary or Obama handle the economic depression without cutting spending abroad...
The US is bankrupt, and only Paul, Kucinich, Nader and McKinney got the honesty and strength to stand up for it.
I wish you all good luck.
Obama for 4 years of politicians taking responsibility for their own ideas. Hillary for 4 years of politicians positioning themselves for or against "Hillary's" policies.
It's not the spending abroad that's the matter, it's the spending on our military that goes abroad that seems to be so taxing lately.
Magnolia, I responded to a comment you made three weeks ago about Alexis de Tocqueville. I think you should go find it. I spent three weeks finishing that book, because I really felt you might have taken his quote out of context.
Oh, and Ron Paul for president.
