The list of "what is philosophy?" includes some of the most boring and sundry philosophers (e.g. Lewis, snnnooooorreee!). Here are some ones I live better:

The aim of philosophy, abstractly formulated, is to understand how things in the broadest possible sense of the term hang together in the broadest possible sense of the term. I would say that the thing they have in common is that they are notorious for something other than philosophy. Especially the pope, not much philosophy going on there.

Have you ever actually read what John Paul II wrote, Andyo? You may not be a Catholic, or even a theist, but I urge you to read a bit of his work.

Well, the link suggests that Woody Allen and Willie Clinton "majored" in philosophy. This doesn't neccessarily imply that they hold degrees in said discipline. One can easily major in something without it culminating in a degree.
