Edwards Weighs Clinton Endorsement
As he weighs a possible endorsement in the Democratic race, former Sen. John Edwards is as split as the party he once hoped to lead -- and is seriously considering supporting Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton, despite the sharp criticism he leveled at her on the campaign trail, according to former aides and advisers. In deciding between his one-time rivals, Edwards appears deeply divided. Several former advisers likened his thought process to a heart-versus-head split -- with his heart favoring Sen. Barack Obama's strong message of change, and his head attracted to Clinton's tested nature and commitment to tough fights.

So they are really just super delegates now?
Don't do it John!
Don't side with the past!
I guess Kucinich may have known something about Edwards when he asked his folks to give Obama his 2nd option votes.
Better to stay silent, John. peace box
I told FP the other day that I'm just glad I'm not an American this time around as it would be very difficult to choose between those two. Both have their good points and both have their slimy bad points.
Okay, Norm... you oppose Obama vociferously and insist you don't support Clinton.
Is it Roger Calero, SWPUSA, who wasn't born in the United States, or Brian Moore, SPUSA, who has been associated with HMOs for 20 years, or Nader, with the backlash he'd bring?
If you aren't going to spread around the blame a little, and talk about why Hillary Clinton is -also- unacceptable, then who are you for?
Sure hope he goes with his heart. May be a bit riskier in some ways, but we know what we'll get with Hilary, and it will only be 8 years of frustration and media focus on the Clinton drama.
I think she's great, I just think she'd make a better Senator and adviser to a guy who would truly be a turn of the page and an inspiring image to all the world.
The new spin being pushed hard this week by both Hilary and McCain is that he's all rhetoric. That is nothing but bullshit. He can hold his own with either as far as policy, and I believe in his judgment and his ability to attract change agents to his team way more than either of those two warhorses.
McCain would prefer to run against Hilary, that much is clear. And that says a lot.

It's so strange you say that - I find myself automatically assuming she'll be president for 8 years, too.
We've had too many two-term presidents in the last 30 years. And when one of 'em is a high-functioning retard, I guess it's to be expected that perspective on the presidency would be seriously altered.
