I don't know if Frank Luntz is the guy I'd turn to for independent advice. He's a shill. One of Bush's most trusted spinmaster. And now he's out there paving the way for the next Republican nominee. I don't believe a word he says.

If he's rooting like that for Obama - maybe Hillary isn't this push-over he wants us to believe. He's quite funny for a Republican, I give him that. But Maher should have been way more careful to buy Luntz' spinning.

Luntz... rhymes with c*nts.

interesting in what way?

just curious . . .

I think that it will be difficult for the Republicans to ramp up their slime maching against Obama. If they try to do the sort of reprehensible crap they pulled with Kerry the Obama people will turn it around on them and make it look like any personal attack on Obama is racial. I think that old school, Karl Rove shit just won´t play this time around. I´d like to see Obama move to the left and adopt more of the Edwards platform. I agree that he will be tough to beat if he wins the nomination. Then it will be time to take the gloves off and let the conservatives have it.

Is it just me, or does the phrase "you need your writers back" strike anyone as absolutely untrue?

From Penn & Teller's Bullshit:

I disagree. Maher is not nearly as funny as I thought he was.

Marco, De gustibus non est disputandem

There's no accounting for taste or for sense of humor.

Zaphod, thanks for the p and T link. How a propos that the slight of hand-revealer artists should be shedding the light on polls. Pollsters do the same job that telemarketers do: ask a series of questions and get the answer they want to bag the sale.

The polls have been wrong enough already during this primary season. Why anyone gives the results any mind is just too bad.

I will give Lutz credit for noting that folks are more engaged in this election. Vietnam and Watergate were probably the last times that got this electorate up for a campaign bout.

Those are the statements people liked most from Clinton and Obama? Sure, it sounded good, but it's nothing people don't already know. They didn't say anything of substance.

Then, Bill said he couldn't say anything about McCain, because he spent 5 years in a box. Sorry, but that doesn't qualify someone to run the country. I'm tired of hearing about his POW status. He endured it, but how about we get beyond it and talk about him as a president instead.

NOt that it matters, but McCain doesn't respect Obama at ALL! I remember when they were trying to come up with a compromise on a funding bill(for the war I believe it was),and when Obama wouldn't settle for McCain's compromise he went bat shit and sent out this public letter addressed to Obama and in an eligant way told the young senator to go fuck him self...lol this story is about a year old so if I'm getting any or this wrong anyone, please feel free to correct me on it.

With out providing a link to back it up, I know it's just gossip! Sorry wish I had one

It's a little late, but thanks for that Penn and Teller link, Zaphod. I've never heard the name Matisse said with such disgust and loathing. I've been laughing about that all day.
