ha im going with colbet on this one. leno was a close 2nd. i think theyre doing fine without the writers. the first day of stewart/colbert was pretty weak but i think theyre getting used to it now. i missed these :)
Colbert - no question - by sheer force of personality. So much of his show is his schtick, and when that is working, he doesn't need writers.
I agree that Colbert's was the best but I disagree about their need for writers. As comedians they're all pretty damn good at improve but five shows a week, every week will sap their energy after a while and they'll either burn out or flounder. This isn't a dig at their abilities but a reality of the insane demands of pulling off a half-hour of fresh new comedy every night. Most mere mortals couldn't write a half-hour of comedy in their entire lifetime and the fact that these guys can dish it out unscripted is amazing. But for their own health and longevity I hope they get their writers back soon.
Colbert FTW!
"Giuliana said upon his second defeat... he said, "Now"... quote "we,'ve lulled our opponents into a fall sense of confidence..."
"Oh yes... oh, hoho hoho.. everything is going according to plan.. those fools! They think they can win... by winning!"
LOL!
Yes, Colbert..
Oh shit... parenthesis and block quotes for blockheads... sign me up!
The second paragraph should have been in parenthesis!
into a fall sense of confidence..."
Should be "false" sense...
How about a spelling class for the spelling challenged?!
we,'ve lulled
Or how about a punctuation class? My excuse is that i use English international and have to use "shift plus" depending upon whether or not I want a " or a รค or.... you get the idea... hopefully... those of you who have an American keyboard but also type in other languages..
You also put Giuliana instead of Giuliani. Now you're going to hate me. lol
JoAnn,
Holding yourself to standards is laudable, but really - we're not keeping a permanent record.

Oh shit! I'm hopeless! :0)

Thank goodness! ;)
You also put Giuliana instead of Giuliani
Oh, shit.. don't confuse this poor gal!
In French, if an "a" or an "o" follows the "g", it's a hard "g", so I finally figured out that it might be the same thing with Italian names, so I think I got the "gi" part right... But, after all, I'm an American so you can't expect too much with these furen names!
Of course, Norm is ... the archives are forever.
Of course, Norm is ... the archives are forever
Are you saying that any stupid thing that we've ever said is archived?! Yikes! :)
But then any stupid thing that any of our presidential candidates have said is also in the archives, and yet that doesn't stop any of us from being ardent supporters notwithstanding...
JoAnn
I think its fairly safe to say that, whatever heinous typographical errors you make, you will always have more ardent supporters on this Blog than any of the presidential candidates.
Colbert wins this round, without a doubt.
I fear to write another word lest I trigger an avalanche of grammar corrections. :)
