Imagine no assholes..
I'll take a genuine believer in God over an asshole any day...
Speaking of circumnavigating the globule, we hear so much of Mr. Dawkins, okay, but what of the disciples? Susan Blackmore, f'rinstance. She is an egg cell ent source on such stuff and nonsense. Meme machine,...
Me, me, it's all about...
Meme(s).
Imagine the constipation...
LMAO!!!
I've one issue with this ad. When they mention "suicide bombers" they seem to forget a little WWII tactic of Kamikazi bombings. There were loose spiritual influences behind the tactic but it was much more a nationalistic call to duty than religious if I'm not mistaken.
Please correct me if I'm wrong.
Stupid Git, I think the real problem is that "Imagine No Blind Unthinking Submission To Any Ideologies" doesn't have the same ring to it as "Imagine No Religion".
But I already have a paperback edition of TGD. Is there something new in this one?
Alas, "religion" is not really a necessary nor sufficient condition. The idea may serve as an approximation for the truth, but it's not the truth. And because it is not the truth, it will serve to cloud the minds of the nonreligious, give ammunition for religious bigots, and alienate respectful religious people (who are generally decent people worth interacting with anyway) that are the best hope we nonreligious sorts have of being understood by the religious community.
Or as the first poster said, "imagine no assholes."
Apologies for the double post, but Hillary may deserve on a bonk on the head for "The cause of justice has always come from people of faith and people of labor."
