THE failure of the New Hampshire pre-election surveys to mirror the outcome of the Democratic race is one of the most significant miscues in modern polling history. All the published polls, including those that surveyed through Monday, had Senator Barack Obama comfortably ahead with an average margin of more than 8 percent. These same polls showed no signs that Senator Hillary Clinton might close that gap, let alone win.

Tata Nano: The Worlds Cheapest Car - Wheels - Autos - New York Times Blog
“They are not concept cars, they are not prototypes,” Mr. Tata announced when he got out of the car. “They are the production cars that will roll out of the Singur plant later this year.”
The four-door Nano is a little over 10 feet long and nearly 5 feet wide. It is powered by a 623cc two-cylinder engine at the back of the car. With 33 horsepower, the Nano is capable of 65 miles an hour. Its four small wheels are at the absolute corners of the car to improve handling. There is a small trunk, big enough for a duffel bag.- Interview: Mike Huckabee Colbert Report

A short peice on NPR with Andrew Kohut about the washington post article above about why the polling was wrong, if anyone is so inclined.
Dur. "washington post" should be New York Times. Long week.
Tato Nano.
No No!
We'll soon be "Under a Green Sky". Back to the Paleocene.
Is Dzwonka writing for the Onion now?
LOL at the bottom of the page on the onion in small 8pt font...
Kohut's explanation was good. I had heard the theory that polling in bi-racial elections can be screwed up by people lying to pollsters, but I've never heard a respected pollster say that it's a trend, so that's one good thing I learned.
One of the callers, like many Americans, blamed the media and the polls for the fact that Richardson gets no coverage. But he had no support, either, little money, and just lost two actual votes. It's as if these people think the media should keep talking about no-support candidates just because the media has decided that they'd be great and should get lot's of support.
I'm an Obama supporter I know, but it bugs me that Hillary is said to get pity points for being a woman, when she's running against a black insurgent candidate without the establishment support that Hillary has had. It's a real embarrassment that there aren't more women in serious contention in presidential politics, but Hillary's sex has been a net positive to her political career, there can be no doubt. None of the male students at Yale Law school of mediorce political talents had any chance of marrying Bill Clinton.
Jimmy Carter ran over my dog and stole my girlfriend!
I saw some earlier pictures of the "Tata" in a car magazine a few weeks ago. These photos showed little wires implanted in the rear window. Unlike other cars where these are used to defrost the back window, these ones are there to keep your hands warm in the winter when you're trying to push start it.

Since I am already on my way to hell I might as well note that the "Tata" looks like a Prius with Down Syndrome.
Man, because the only thing India needs is MORE cars on its roads sighs
When Realtime comes on tonight, be sure to listen attentively to anything Bill says about Obama; he was on Tyra Banks' show this morning shooting hoops. (I was waiting for my work-out buddy and got bored channel surfing, in case anyone's wondering).
