Norm, There are times when you must use a contraction. This is one of 'em:

Rodent eatin' goober

This reminded me of a sweet old lady who lived two houses down from me when I was a kid. She was a church-going, vociferously pro-life, rosary-praying, button-up sweater kinda gal who just happened to keep a barrel of rancid water on her back patio with a small steel cage on a chain next to it. I asked her grandson one day what it was for and he didn't want to tell me but after enough prying he finally did. He said she would catch squirrels in the cage then drop 'em in the barrel and watch 'em drown.

I was speechless.

Unless you're a vegetarian, you have no room to criticize.
