You can't base the success of a war on the pride of individual soldiers.

Hey,

Think you can post the rest? Big surprise that Tony boy plays the righteously indignant role.

Dang, I wanted to see the rest of that. :-)

I guess it must be something like this.

Or this,

Romney though is actually one of the living dead who escaped from a Romero movie.

I'm guessing that when McCain said he couldn't find anything wrong with America Callgirl masturbated to a loop of that video.

Oh and is there any more video of Tony Snow being a douchebag on this Real Time episode? I need a good laugh.

Tony Snow spouting his righteous indignation at the end is outrageous.

4000 dead American troops, tens of thousands more seriously maimed, hundreds of thousands of dead Iraqis, millions of Iraqi refugees in neighboring countries, and a couple of trillion dollars before its all over. 700,000 former residents of Baghdad ethnically cleansed just during the period that the "surge" was supposedly working. And it was based on what? WMD claims that were wildly inflated or wholly fabricated, bogus links between Saddam Hussein and Al Qaeda, and lust for profits derived from massive corruption all around. I hope Matt Taibbi told Tony Snow, just one in a series of liars who sold this shit on a daily basis, to take his righteous indignation and shove it up his ass.

Actually Tim you forgot the most recent and abstract of all the justifications for staying in Iraq mentioned by McCain: troop self esteem. According to McCain the troops have really small dicks so the only way to make them feel as though they're worthy is to win this unwinnable war.

Taibbi is a breath of fresh air! Can we get him to do the post-debate commentary? pretty please? I would just love to hear someone sum up the proceedings without ending with "The real winners are the American people."

Tony Snow wouldn't like my comment. ya think?

Please post the rest - I love Matt taking it to Snow. And yes that air of indignation is all Snow could assume because if it is anything other than a screaming match he'll lose. "Oh but the troops emotions" nothing but obfuscation - if the war was wrong it has nothing to do with the emotions of troops.

HJones, you can track it down through youtube - sections3-6 I believe. Norm's clip has a few minutes edited in the middle.

I mean - search Matt Taibbi on youtube and watch pts 3-6...

Thanks for the snow job, Tony! I was on the fence until Tony opened his mouth, but now I'm definitely going to buy a copy of Matt Taibbi's book.

Why doesn't anyone call out the person's bullshit when they reference what the troops feel? Like they got a representative sample and have a good gauge of what they are feeling if they talked to ~10 soldiers? Like these people have no reason to twist the truth? Like even if an actual poll was taken with a margin of error, something that would actually count for more than their stupid anecdotes count for (zero), the troops are the ones who should make the decisions now? Why? Why won't anyone challenge this transparently bullshit argument? I see this stupid shit on both sides too. Anti-war people do the exact same thing. It's pathetic

"..that's right, change the subject".

Good grief. Snow really believes in the whole "perception makes reality"- stick. ...I mean, not that the vast majority of the journalists in the US doesn't, but hey.. rofl.

I need to see the rest of this cat fight. I know the arguing will be futile in terms of anything illuminating and the mob audience will smell an easy lynching, but what a tease!

Wow - I haven't seen Tony Snow for a while. He doesn't look like he's going to make it...

I do believe that some soldiers come back saying that - I think a lot of them have done the best they could in the midst of incompetence, corruption and lies. What does that prove? Many people who went down on the Titanic acted nobly.

That has nothing to do with "the surge is working," or that we have been lied to over and over about this war. If Tony and his brethren want to cling to some soldiers in hell finding something to be proud of as justification for the war they have started and/or supported, they have just shown another sign of their lack of souls. Those soldiers have earned their rights - the politicians are just hiding behind them saying any criticism of the war is criticism of the soldier pawns being used to fight it.

I feel sorry for Mr. Snow as a person but not for the deal he made with the devil in the White House and at Fox.

And more Matt, definitely.

I have pasted below my favorite passage from Taibbi's campaign diary for Rolling Stone. I encourage people to read his stuff. It's great...

I waved him off and explained that, as a member of the national campaign press, I was here to write about what I wanted him to say, not what he wanted himself to say. “Look,” I said, holding up a bill. “I’m willing to pay twenty bucks to the first person who’ll say whatever I want him to say about Fred Thompson.” About ten sets of hands flew up, including the kid in front of me. I held up the twenty. “Name,” I barked. “Gary Blakeman,” he said. “Age,” I said. “Seventeen.” I wrote that down. “Gary, does Fred Thompson look like a pedophile to you?” He looked at me pleadingly. “Yes, right?” “Right,” I said. “Yes, he does,” he answered. “So what you’re saying, Gary,” I prompted, “is that you wouldn’t be at all surprised to walk into a room and see this candidate’s penis in a four year-old child?” “Of course not!” the kid said. “Because he looks like a fucking pedophile, dude!”
