too bad he's not alive today to do shows with better technology.
This sure puts things into perspective. We live in such a trivial world.
Beautiful again every time I hear it.
Also it reminds me of this other movie, http://youtube.com/watch?v=ctFL4IqY7AY
That was great too.
Brian,
I totally agree. I purchased the Cosmos DVD box set as a gift for my nephews and they just brushed it off. It had bad special effects, they said. That's about as close to blasphemy as one can get. Cosmos is timeless!
Thank you Norman.
Carl Sagan brings me back to my childhood when I spent hours reading his book "Cosmos".
What a wonderful man he was, teaching us to be critic of everything we see, read and are told, in every circumstance.
The thing that strikes me most about that clip is that a lot of people are going to relate more to the movie clips than the message. "Oh, I remember that film, that's 'what's his name!'"

That was... amazing.
yeah dont get me wrong, this show was amazing, but id still like to see an updated version. his voice is hypnotic.
If only this were mandatory viewing in all schools everywhere then I guarantee there'd be less war.
Start with small steps. First, Donnie Osmond, cuz he's obviously easy meat. He's a TV host.
Thanks for this.
Where was it taken from though? Is there a better quality version? The music seems to drown the voice towards the end.
Apparently the Cosmos on the Science Channel of Discovery is beginning sooner than indicated. It took me a while, but I finally found the schedule.

It starts tomorrow at 4pm.
This is honestly the single best thing said by humanity so far. I am moved to tears whenever I read or hear this
