Religious Nonsense
Bill provides a useful demonstration of the silliness that is the Catholic Church. Chris Matthews doesn't like it.

Heh, I love the gasps and the sarcastic "too soon" when the Hitler pic comes up.
During a stage show the other night I made a joke about a dead toddler who was found dead and dumped in a suitcase in a lake in Sydney earlier in the week. Admittedly it wasn't in the best of taste but in the context most of the audience came with me despite their initial reticence.
The fact that Hitler jokes still elicit this kind of reaction cracks me up.

Gestalt sigh chology. Who says waves of paranoimal personal meanings can not pass through one another (and through us) on their ways to and through us from our various personal "Gods"? Who am I to judge? But why is the Pope being burnt at/like the/a stake/steak? Is he a heretic/piece of meat? Do they ever burn the communion wafers? Distill the spirits of the wine? What do I know? Seek High'll *.

Sounds like comedy gold...
Mind posting what the joke was anyway? I'm intrigued(spelling?)

Too bad it was just a photo and not an image burned onto piece of toast, you could make millions selling one of those on eBay.

I don't think you can get all that much more "official" than a Vatican News Service director (except, of course, the Pope, himself).

I'm sorry. That was one of the funniest things I've seen all week. (I particularly liked the Travolta move...)

If only we could see a burning Bush, preferably superimposed on the real George, in our minds I mean, of course.
Only in our imaginations.

This has likely been brought up numerous times before, but Matthews has one of those annoying nasal laughs that you just are crying for him to stop immediately.

Although there was a lingering at the back of my mind, I just didn't realize how much I fucking despised Chris Matthews, until now. Maybe I didn't pay enough attention. But he really is a horrible human being.
Hollow laughter, and "oh, you mustn't offend traditional, and/or conservative opinions"-attitudes.
What a pathetic, fucking shit.

I find it odd that most religious people (in america) despise the use of hallucinogenic drugs. How big of a trip would you need to be on to believe you're seeing the pope in your fireplace?
What is that "white smoke" coming from the vatican anyway?
