Sue God

Go to orginal
The defendant in a state senator’s lawsuit is accused of causing untold death and horror and threatening to cause more still. He can be sued in Douglas County, the legislator claims, because He’s everywhere. . .

Chambers says in his lawsuit that God has made terrorist threats against the senator and his constituents, inspired fear and caused “widespread death, destruction and terrorization of millions upon millions of the Earth’s inhabitants.”

While I like that he's making some pretty sound arguments, he's doing this in response to a woman suing a judge who's preventing her from saying the words "rape" and "assault" during a criminal trial against a man who (allegedly, I suppose) raped her. If this is the case I remember, the judge said those words were too prejudicial and inflammatory. And that is a decision I cannot stand behind.

I think it's right to damn God for this. I mean he impregnated a 12 year old virgin with his bastard son it's no wonder America dose not take rape seriously.

Doobie - indeed. It's too bad that part of the story keeps getting lost in all the rhetoric.

I wonder if Mr. Chambers personally served the papers to God or if he had the Sheriff's department do it. I think I'd opt for the Sheriff's deputy - that could get ugly!

Seems to me the defendant in this case is AWOL. Good luck finding him/her/it.

Can we make this a class action? :)

Seems to me that there would be a lack of personal jurisdiction, seeing as how non-existant entities cannot make even minimum contacts.

This case has inspired me to sue Murphy. If not for his oppressive law, my children never would have learned those four letter words from me. That's got to be worth at least a million dollars!

thats where you are wrong J.D. God has minimal contacts if you consider the churches found in every state. The presence of a church clearly shows that God is carrying on business within the state, therefore the condition of minimal contacts is clearly met. check-mate

Churches claim to be affiliated with God, but you cannot be affiliated with something that doesn't exist.

Also, don't forget Sovereign Immunity.

Citing The United States ex rel. Gerald Mayo vs Satan and his staff, this lawsuit may falter on the grounds that it is impossible to Serve Process God (AKA or notify God that he is being sued).

However, it may be possible to argue that, if God cannot be directly notified or sued for his behavior, one may sue his representatives on earth. All one needs to do is pick a wealthy church and force them to either argue that God has no control over natural events or argue in that they are not in fact God's representatives on earth. It puts them in quite the pickle.

ok well if your playing the game that GOD exsists then he's everywhere and he already kows he's been served!! hell he already sent a filing back to the court clerk!!! it's an AP story. but this ass munch is an agnostic, so if you deny the exsistance then you can't sue non exsistant forms!..

however this suit sites that GOD threatened the Senator, and his constituants, I don't believe the bible ever said "I damned the Nebraska state senator Ernie Chambers to ... yadda yadda" so it should get thrown out, no basis of proof.

but if this prick wins I'm sueing Santa cfor emotional damage ( I really wanted that bigfoot truck with the turn key in it) and Easter bunny for food poisoning(them Peeps maed me sick!)

see ya'll in the bahamas!!!

oh P.S. the filing just wnet "poof" acording to the clerk of court,.. and showed up and it's witness block was signed by Michael the Archangel. that's funny too funny
