- ‘OLD NAVY’ STORES LOOTED, AFTER HIRING RUMSFELD AS CEO
Old Navy Stores revealed today that massive looting of its more than 1000 retail outlets took place, merely one day after former Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld took over as Chief Executive Officer of the clothing chain.
The ransacking began moments after Rumsfeld disbanded the franchise’s vast army of security guards, claiming that they were loyal to their former employer, Bed, Baathists and Beyond. . . - Bush Gaffes Used To Make Me Laugh » Mad Kane's Political Madness

I disagree with what the Pope and Bin Ladin stand for, but I can't deny they have good points.

When i heard about this Bin laden tape, the media was covering it differently than any of the others, i thought it was strange, so i'm glad that norm linked the full text.
All i've heard about the new tape is that BL says that we all need to convert to islam to end the war, and how he has dyed his beard. It's pretty amazing how much of what he says has not been included in the reports. I wonder why that is?
I have to say that the "liberals" have it right on of why we are being attacked by terrorists, bl says so himself in the speech. It has nothing to do with "hating our freedom" or "fear", even though I can see how a republican would misconstrue "free market" with "freedom".
Either way, I would be eternally greatful if a sociologist would take this speech, and read it to people all over the world, and see who agrees with it, it would be absolutely fascinating to see how many people agree with this sort of stuff.
Ah, but what do you bet Hitchens responds to this at salon.com (religion poisons everything, after all) and Christians respond to Hitchens by saying, "yes, but not OUR religion".
This bl speech is so wide-spread, every side will use it to their own ends, and ignore the parts that don't apply to their idealogical view.
Man, i've been rant-heavy lately, I need to focus a bit.
