Late Show w/David Letterman

Comments

Actually, Jimmy Kimmel beat down on this guy much harder. Norm, you should probably consider putting up some Kimmel videos, he's consistently more biting (and funnier) than Letterman, and dare I say it, even the Daily Show.

Check out the whole monologue, it's hilarious, a great part of it is about this and another of your previous stories.

this is just hilarious. he is gay. you could believe he was just pleading guilty just when he says he didn't want to deal with the court system but when you read the police report...you know he wanted to suck some dick.

This is just a minor setback for the Republicans. I believe once the election heats up in earnest the Republican caucus will be smoking up the poles.

Oh no! Just think, not only will the republicans be getting the conservative vote next election, they're also trying to get the gay vote. It's quite a twist of the republicans' campaign strategy. How come it's the republicans who always end up being gay? Perhaps they aren't against homosexual values at all. Maybe they're against gay marriage because if all the gay men got married, there would be no more single, gay men for members of the neo-conservative caucus to solicit. How lonely they would become. :(

Funny how it takes a straight Democrat with enough courage to parade amongst the homosexuals.

Larry Craig's campaign theme song wasn't "Private Idaho" by the B-52's was it?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zFyBH-z6c1w&mode=related&search=

"You're living in your own Private Idaho.

You're living in your own Private Idaho.

Keep off the patio, keep off the path.

The lawn may be green but you better not be seen

walkin' through the gate that leads you down,

down to a pool fraught with danger is a pool full of strangers.

You're living in your own Private Idaho,

where do I go from here to a better state than this.

Well, don't be blind to the big surprise

swimming round and round like the deadly hand of a radium clock,at the bottom, of the pool."

Not only is it intersting that so many of the God-fearing hetero man by day/leather boy by night types seem to be imbedded in the GOP but that the Republicans have finally realized that they should immediately call for their ouster when they are caught. No more of this "stand by the man until he's convicted in a court of law" stuff anymore. They are willing to cut their losses and run quickly when this type of thing comes to light. There is only one prominent member of the party who adamently denies misdeeds, blunders, hypocracy, and cover-ups, no mattter how blatent and damning the evidence to the contrary may be. That man resides in the White House. While financially, I am sure his Presidency has achieved all the goals of the big money backers that installed him in that ivory palace wanted (look at oil company profits over the last 7 years), but look at what a body-blow his tenure is to the Republicans. Want to bet that he is being asked, if not begged, not to endorse any front-runner Republican candidate for President in 08? He's the kiss of death and it's no surprise that his own party is only with-holding condemnation, if not outright impeachment calls, because of the fact that they think they can ride him out. He pitched himself as another Reagan. What they got was another Nixon.

Yeah, and Haggard's kids, too.

There is only one prominent member of the party who adamently denies misdeeds, blunders, hypocracy, and cover-ups, no mattter how blatent and damning the evidence to the contrary may be.

Are you kidding? Hundreds of prominent members of the GOP (and a few quisling Democrats) were willing to write letters in support of Scooter Libby, a man convicted of perjury and obstructing justice in a case that might easily have uncovered an act of treason!

How quickly they forget:

Craig said that he pled guilty but didn't mean to, he just wanted to put it behind him. What, does he expect us to believe he's some inner city kid who's been set up by the police and might as well cut his losses and cop to it? Either he was lawyered up to the hilt, or he didn't let his lawyer in on it because he was so deep in the closet.

blogactive.com gathers info on closted gay conservatives and "pushes" them out of the closet (they claim to have reliable info on three other incidents with Craig). The other day they posted the following:

""Larry Craig should stand up and be honest with the citizens of Idaho about who he is," said Rogers, the country's top gay activist blogger. "Tonight is a historic opportunity for Senator Craig to run for re-election as a proud gay American. What a great turning point for one of the most conservative states in the country to be represented by an openly gay Senator."

Yeah, a proud gay American with a criminal record who likes to solicit anonymous sex in airport restrooms. He'll be the Jackie Robinson of gay GOP senators!! blogactive.com as almost as delusional as Craig himself is.

I agree that it is sad that this guy's-- err, this hypocritical asshole's family must be going through some rough stuff... They are suffering because of no fault of their own, and they deserve sympathy -- to think otherwise would be callous and extremely cynical.

However, sympathy -- like all emotions -- is a limited resource, so I think I'll reserve mine for those who have suffered (through no fault of their own) because of this hypocrite's persecution.

And ya know -- those guys do have families too...

Dunno if this is 100% work safe, but it very funny.

Absolutely, Dzwonka. I really have a hard time feeling for the families of these closet hypocrites of lately. Sure, at least the children don't have anything to it. But the wifes usually knew what was going on, knew of the hypocrisy of their husbands fornicating around while at the same time lashing out at homosexuals, pregnant teenagers or abortion rights. (And this is the only scandal here. I could care less about his sexuality. But I certainly mind his hypocrisy.) These wifes went along because it meant money and power.

So, I'm not that sorry for them, neither.

If you listen very carefully, you can hear the music they're running in the background.

They got it, of all places, from Robotech.

Look, I do not know what kind of news you have been getting on Craig in USA. But in Sweden the report is, he pled guilty only because the police offered him a deal, either he would got to trial and deal with all that publicity or pay the fine and they would bury the case. He was entrapped, Plain and simple. What bothers us most here, is that in this day and age a politician is not allowed to be gay. What is your problem with homosexuals. It should not matter for the republicans or the democrats who is gay. But all the same it does. And they even marry and have children just to provide the staus quo everyone expects. And for us, that is what this case is about. You are not allowed to be gay in the USA.
