moon colonization can't start soon enough.
Oh my, is "have you been to Iraq?/ I have been 7 times." still an argument to get by with?
McCains words in this direction still reverberate deeply within me (from the talk with Stewart - "I talk with them every day, my friend").
Its not your display of getting hooked on one particular direction very badly that makes you credible. Its the talent to show that you have looked at both sides and made a conclusive decision. But then again, you might have to accept something that does not fit your agenda.
I'd have loved it if Webb asked him "Which part of iraq?" I'd love to hear where Lindsay has been.
Isn't Webb's son in Iraq? I think by not pulling that card out of the bag he showed that he wants to win the argument with facts.
What a douchebag Sen. Graham is! He just descnded into babbling when he was rightly called on the facts by Sen. Webb. He wasn't even coherent. I hope that the co0nstituemts of his state can see what a mindless tool of the Bush Administration they have selected to represent them and their values in the Senate. This man is a shameless disgrace to his state that ranks on-par with our shameless President.
So he's saying that if your soldiers continue to fight (and die in ever increasing numbers) your war policies should remain unchanged.
What a fucking genius! All these years I've been SO wrong. His l33t strategies make Genghis Khan look like a n00b!
Andy.
I liked the bit of fearmongering at the end where he says that if we dont win in Iraq then Osama's going to get us. OOOOHHH, Im SOOOOO SCARED of Old Osama.
Incidentally, The Iraq Commission released its findings on Saturday. It concluded that we should withdraw troops ASAP upon completion of training the Iraqi Security Forces.
The report is top notch. Available here: http://reddit.com/info/26rx8/comments

"Isn't Webb's son in Iraq? I think by not pulling that card out of the bag he showed that he wants to win the argument with facts."
Or maybe he doesn't want to win the argument at all. Remember, American voters are essentially idiots. They don't vote based on facts, or even on who best represents their interests. They vote, more often than not, for the guy who declares himself the biggest, toughest cowboy, even if in reality he's an effete little chickenshit. This is, after all, the nation that produced manufactured tough-guys Ronald Reagan, George "W" Bush, Dick Cheney, Arnold "The Terminator," etc. etc. etc.
I think Webb is a bit of a blowhard. His book, "Born Fighting" sounds like a southern apologist manifesto, and his whole pro-military shtick gets thin in my book. I think the whole exchange of 'how long has YOUR family been fighting in the American military? Mine was here for The Revolution... blah blah blah' is little more than Whose Dick is Bigger and it bores me to fricking tears.
But it is fun to see the closet-case Graham get boxed between the eyes... finally.
"So he's saying that if your soldiers continue to fight (and die in ever increasing numbers) your war policies should remain unchanged."
Yeah, it's always amusing to listen to these fucking Republicans talk about consequences: "We've fucked things up totally beyond repair. Imagine the horrific consequences if you don't allow us to continue doing what we're doing."
Luckily for Lindsay, the American people's collective memory doesn't extend back further than the last season of American Idol.
Is it just me, or does Lindsay Graham sound a bit like "Huckleberry Hound"?
Is Lindsay Graham seriously trying to compare visiting Iraq a few times to a soldier's time there? WTF?! I'm a vegetarian, but I would make an exception for some fried chickenhawk right now.
@ kali juga: "They vote, more often than not, for the guy who declares himself the biggest, toughest cowboy, even if in reality he's an effete little chickenshit." <-Well said!
Didnt webb serve is Nam? I wonder if lindsay did..anybody know?
Lindsay was in the Air Force, but I don't believe he ever saw combat.
Apparently no one asked, and he didn't tell . . .

asking generals or troops whether they want to keep fighting the Iraq war is like a bully asking his fists whether they want to keep pounding that foreign kid. The only people worth asking about the war are the victims and not the tools of aggression.
and yes, "So he's saying that if your soldiers continue to fight (and die in ever increasing numbers) your war policies should remain unchanged." the only way people like Graham will decide to pull out is when all the soldiers desert in unison.
OF "NANCY BOYS" AND CLOSETED HOMOPHOBES

Lindsey Graham is a "nancy boy", a closet faggot who never fought a day in his life, and he has the nerve to tell Jim Webb, a Vietnam war hero, who has a son serving in Iraq, what American soldiers think?!
Graham goes to Bahdad and buys rugs, fer chrissakes. He's a Republican interior decorator, a cowardly, limp-wristed shill with a non-stop motormouth for Bush's stupid, wrong-headed war.
Way to go, "Nancy" Graham, you only have the courage to interrupt your moral betters when in the "safe", manly arms of Republican media protector, "Melonhead Russert". Just try taking on Jim Webb mano a mano -- and I don't mean on your knees in some public restroom. He'd kick the shit out of your chickenhawk ass.
I think I will enlighten this discussion by adding something, Graham got served. That is all.(I don't really have much to say, Webb basically covered it).
This has to be the dumbest comments thread I've ever seen on this blog.
I hate, hate, hate, hate it when it comes down to a battle of volumes. This crap needs to be moderated properly.
