Thanks for posting this. This show has been pretty much under the radar and I would love to hear people's thoughts.
I love the kid stuff with all the lil characteres. But the absolute insentivity on the war, especially in the episode on Father's Day was absolutely disgusting.
Here WE are laughing as lil cheney shoots up iraq children and others. I wish they had taken a different tact.
love to hear what others think, peace box

Ron Paul isn't in the picture. Those bastards.

We didn't descend from apes. Proponents of evolution really have to start reading some intro books or take some courses. This is embarrassing.

We didn't descend from modern apes, no. But we are descendants of ancient apes that are now extinct. Indeed, since humans are a species of ape, and since everyone is a descendant of their parents, it is trivially true that all humans are descendants of apes.

Lil Rumsfeld is kinda weak. I think Lil Rove would've been cool.

Well, I've pretty much lost the ability to laugh about the Bush administration with anything but pure derision. The seriousness of the damage that Bush has visited on the country has taken me past this kind of jokey humor in dealing with it. I could have viewed the pitfalls of any other president in my adult life - from Carter to Clinton - through this kind of lens, but not this protofascist government.
Yeah, I know, I should lighten up. But, honestly, I just can't.

What I find especially sad about this is that (if memory serves) this is the SECOND series about George Bush by Comedy Central in only six short years.
Here's the episode I want to see: after a night of drinking, George H.W. Bush comes home and beats his eldest son before a grand, candle-adorned idol of Moloch.
Sure, that's not exactly funny in the classical sense, but neither is this.

I know it's not important, but 41, who, unlike his son, 43, is more sensible, more politically savvy, more experienced in serving the country and more secular. I'm not saying I adore him, but I think it's important to compare the two, if only to see the sadness of how Bush, the elder, is closer to common, decent person than the poor carbon copy that is his son.

Marco:
There are plenty of reasons to despise Bush the elder, however, I agree with you. If nothing else, 41 knew better than entering Iraq. If memory serves, H.W. won his war in about 90 days, and did so with the full support of the International community.
Part of me hopes that George W. is right; that God is real, and that an eternal hell is waiting for him.

I just don't think this is funny anymore. I would have laughed at this 2 or 3 years ago, but not anymore. Everyone knows Bush is a complete idiot and nothing he does surprises me anymore, so to make fun of him for being himself is not funny to me.

Marco-
“41, who, unlike his son, 43, is more sensible, more politically savvy, more experienced in serving the country and more secular”
“I don't know that atheists should be considered as citizens, nor should they be considered patriots. This is one nation under God.” George Herbert Walker Bush
Does that sound very secular to you? It’s like trying to compare which ones shit doesn’t stink as bad.

Meh... Too heavy handed for my tastes.
This kind of hits you over the head with a mallet, and it's not particularly sharp, funny, or insightful.

That George W. Bush has claimed Jesus makes me really feel sorry for all Christendom. Dumya and his heretical cronies have done nothing but ruin the reputation of Jesus, giving the tenets and practices of Christ an undeserved bad reputation. These ridiculously obtuse right wing claims about Dumya's being the Lord's chosen for President are beyond outrageous. America could not possibly have been that mad at Big Dog for his sexual luck with the ladies. All joking aside, we have abandoned all common sense to succumb to the consequences of supporting the dangerous indifference of this insufferable little loon in his thoughtlessly inhumane quest to take over the world. That Dumya has draped himself in the flag, has embossed his drawers and socks with the Presidential seal, and waves a crucifix all combine to grant the world more of a substantial indication of his certifiable lunacy than a claim to his guidance by Jesus.
Jesus was a very erudite scholar. Jesus never was one to involve Himself with trifling human matters of state, ending His involvement with government with rendering unto Caesar the taxes Rome charged. We never read where Jesus campaigned for a Roman senator or encouraged anyone in the synagogue to support the empire. So, why would Jesus suddenly abandon His convictions to anoint Dumya Bush, of all the politicians on the current political stage to be President? Why would Jesus select an abject failure and a pathetic oaf who drilled more dry holes for oil than moths in rented garments?
And, what's with Jesus modern day followers? How did the Son of God come by such an ignorant, perverse, narrow-minded, intolerant, knowledge-resistant horde of followers? These current day saints are some of the biggest idiots on the Earth. Does one now have to abysmally fail an IQ test to qualify to see the Light of the Lord?

I agree with those who say "too little too late". Doing this show now, when Bush's polls are in the toilet and he has under two years left in office is artistically and financially pointless. If only they'd had the guts to do it two or three years ago...

I find this show just plain terrible. Sure, they can make a few good jokes every once and a while, but the rest of it is just cringe-inducing.
As others have said, it's a complete fish-in-a-barrel situation. Oooh! Comedy Central has edge because they're equating Bush to being a child! Where were their balls when they were playing That's My Bush, which conveniently was dropped not too long after a certain date that Bush fixates over so much.
I find the show overall not funny, and mostly annoying. But I still appreciate you posting a clip like this, Norm: at least here it's some concentrated goodness, so I don't have to watch the entire episode on television.
