Hey Norm,
thanks so much for this post.
looks like I have a couple of books to pick up.
BBC World tv has a documentary on research into happiness, The Happiness Formula.
http://www.bbcworld.com/Pages/ProgrammeMultiFeature.aspx?id=83
A new six-part series which looks at the newest research from around the world to find out what could it be that makes us happy.
This was really beautiful! I especially liked the last 5-10 minutes. It's funny because I was raised Catholic and I am constantly trying to figure out whether to tell my mother. It was an interesting perspective about just going (to church) for the sake of the family. I look forward to the bbc link too! Also, there is an interesting talk on ted.com from the writer or "Stumbling on Happiness" http://www.ted.com/index.php/talks/view/id/97 check it out!
