Carlin once (may be many times) said.

"They oughta have two new requirements to be on the police force.
Intelligence and
Decency
It might just work, it certainly hasn't been tried yet"

(He said it after he said. "If you need sensitivity training to know that you shouldn't shove a pole up some black guy's ass, may be you're too fucked up to be in the police force"

I see things haven't changed that much since the nineties, except for maybe, i don't know, the fuckin' TASER

That being said, I think they should increase the pay and benefits for the members of the police force (along with the fire fighters and other civilian response and enforcement agencies). What they should also do, is hold these "few bad apples" responsible and strip them off their badges and guns and throw their asses back on the street where they belong.

US of A used to be a proud country. Now, like the rest of the world, thinking the best and doing the worst, it is going backward at high pace. Going backwards but with very efficient technological tools. Darkest predictions for the growing Fascist authoritarian ideology that will break bodies and minds like never it did before.

fyi the running of the bulls is in Spain, not Mexico. It's tough to come off as righteous when you make a mistake like that.

I dunno, but here in Massachusetts the cops already get paid a lot. More than most people earn right out of college.

Oh, and cirano, most people who get tasered deserve it. I get very sick of seeing videos online where people scream "POLICE BRUTALITY" when the person was obviously resisting arrest.

The issue in LA though was strait out police brutality.

Here's a good video from the point of view of the people involved in the protest: http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=551_1178271257

In Michael Moore's tv series, "TV Nation" or "The Awful Truth", he had the story of a New England town that rejected a candidate for the police because he was too smart. He did too well on the test.

So, Moore's team coached him on how to answer and asked that he be allowed to take the test a second time.

Mike, there are bullfighting rings in almost every town in Mexico. (usually doubling as the local baseball field) They show it endlessly on television. very popular there.....

It is not the decent , intelligent people who become cops in the first place. Most cups are high school bullies who take it a step further and become legal bullies. Those are the people whom you wouldn’t want to have guns in the first place. But they have the gun and the legal rights to use it.

Yes, when trying to make a joke I think it's important to at least get your facts straight. I'm Mexican and was able to quickly catch that, but I'm sort of used to people getting cultures mixed. This happens for not only hispanic cultures but certain asian ones as well. No point in crucifying them for mistakes like these.

This is true as well.

It is not the decent , intelligent people who become cops in the first place.

My professor in my Adjudications class makes jokes about this constantly since he used to work with many of them.
