That being said, I think they should increase the pay and benefits for the members of the police force (along with the fire fighters and other civilian response and enforcement agencies). What they should also do, is hold these "few bad apples" responsible and strip them off their badges and guns and throw their asses back on the street where they belong.

I dunno, but here in Massachusetts the cops already get paid a lot. More than most people earn right out of college.

Oh, and cirano, most people who get tasered deserve it. I get very sick of seeing videos online where people scream "POLICE BRUTALITY" when the person was obviously resisting arrest.

In Michael Moore's tv series, "TV Nation" or "The Awful Truth", he had the story of a New England town that rejected a candidate for the police because he was too smart. He did too well on the test.

So, Moore's team coached him on how to answer and asked that he be allowed to take the test a second time.

It is not the decent , intelligent people who become cops in the first place. Most cups are high school bullies who take it a step further and become legal bullies. Those are the people whom you wouldn’t want to have guns in the first place. But they have the gun and the legal rights to use it.

Yes, when trying to make a joke I think it's important to at least get your facts straight. I'm Mexican and was able to quickly catch that, but I'm sort of used to people getting cultures mixed. This happens for not only hispanic cultures but certain asian ones as well. No point in crucifying them for mistakes like these.
