what an absolute idiot. ya, lets go bomb Iran, lets see how that goes. After we kill a few more thousand people with our bombs they will try to do everything in their power to hurt us, and then when we get anther 9/11 we can all lokk like Bambi again and ask ourselves "why do they hate us?"

And you wonder why the rest of the world is so paranoid about America.

Why is it that your politicians see war as such a fun little adventure?

McCain's been a militaristic figure for as long as he's been in politics. People are only beginning to notice now. He supported the operation in Kosovo and then criticized it because not enough force was applied. With Iraq it's apparently the same thing--too few bombs. No need to guess what his solution to the Iran problem is. All this is not new with McCain. When he pushes for more war, he's actually talking as straight as ever.

"All this is not new with McCain. When he pushes for more war, he's actually talking as straight as ever."

I could see that being true (but I was one who was happily unaware of such thoughts consistently in the man).

But the bastard should know a lesson from his time in war: bombs ain't jokes. Moron.

"why do they hate us?" Because the Israeli's are to tough and crazy to ask that question. Therefore we are the next logical target.

If he gets elected, I think I would cry.

If he gets elected, I'm marrying my German boyfriend to become a German citizen then we're moving out there!

I think you said it K. Ditto for me. I love this country, but not enouph to stay here and watch it fall appart around me.

Forgive me for being blunt, but we deserve this, we really do. its the american people who elect people like Bush and McCain, if we cant elect good leaders and cheer when they violate our constitution and fight wars of aggression in our name, then we deserve the consequences of electing and supporting such people. Maybe the next election will change things, but I doubt it. We might not get McCain, but even if a Democrat is elected it will only delay the inevitable decay of our society. We need real change, not a bandade.

Tough room eh McCain? Perhaps it's time to leave on another shopping trip and buy some rugs to cover your shame.

I'm so happy that McCain is eating all these leather sandwiches. I thought he was the only republican who would stand a chance of getting elected in the next election. Now it's looking like there is no republican with any chance of getting elected (unless a republican gets smart and changes his name to "Not Hillary").

If you'd install Charlie Manson and a meth-lab in the White House, I think things would probably get worse than now -- but why would McCain be any worse than the shrub?

What could he possibly do, to make anything any worse?

Iran a great threat, huh? I wonder how the Iranians think of the U.S. threat when one of its prime presidential candidates is singing songs about bombing them.

susceptor: I don't think the American people deserve it, and the rest of the world certainly don't deserve to feel the effects of it. It's a sad think what's been happening to the country that was once a guiding star for the rest of the world. Now it's only an example of how bad things can get. I'm afraid the only sollution for the U.S. is to sink further down in the marsh of religiosity, jingoism, corruption and so on. Only when the U.S. has hit rock bottom will it be possible to build a well-functioning democracy there.

Dzwonka, you're right, McCain wouldn't make anything worse then it already is but I think we're all hoping for better, not the same.

I disagree. To quote Bill Watterson, "things are never so bad that they can't get worse".

Call me morbid, but I can imagine a candidate (one that goes "Bomb, bomb, bomb! Hee hee!") being worse than the shrub.

America may have been brought really low these past six years, but it still has a way to go before we get a total collapse into smouldering oblivion.

McCain's comment was completely nuts, I agree. But I think it kinda pales in comparison to the enormous library of idiot comments the shrub has built up over the years.

Theoretically, any situation can always get worse, of course -- and if you think that's possible -- I dunno, maybe you're right; maybe not. I just can't imagine it.

I used to think this guy had some class. Back when he put so much effort into cleaning up boxing and spoke out of turn on a couple of occassions, but since getting presidential stars in his eyes he's proven to be just a spineless politician willing to say anything he thinks will work for him, kissing up to the religious right, etc.

Another willing and eager corporate tool.

Of course one of McCain's researchers must have found the song on youtube or googlevideo.

thanks for the awesome video, bernarda. well, I thought it was funny.

i mean, these I-ranians are famous for their sense of humor. aren't they the ones who just had an international conference on holocaust cartoons, giving a prize for the funniest one? they seem pretty open minded to me.

and they don't seem too shy about telling the world who THEY'D like to bomb.

i think they can take it.

Wow... I am really shocked. Not being sarcastic or anything but wow. Thats really scary.

But honestly, I blame us, Americans, for allowing it to come to this. The people have the power to protest, to resist funding the warmongering government, heck, even to just ecome a little more educated of the world around them. Instead whatwe haveis complacency and well, this is the result of that.

Scary.
