Norman Mailer has released his first new novel in 10 years and he's been talking about writing. In an outrageous snub to us science writers he declared that writing a novel is like falling in love, but writing non-fiction isn't.

Apple Computer is environmentally laggard, and needs your encouragement to clean up their act.
"Right now, poison Apples full of chemicals (like toxic flame retardants, and polyvinyl chloride) are being sold worldwide. When they're tossed, they usually end up at the fingertips of children in China, India and other developing-world countries. They dismantle them for parts, and are exposed to a dangerous toxic cocktail that threatens their health and the environment."

I want to like Apple, so it’s unfortunate to hear that are so environmentally laggard despite their ‘think different’ counterculture marketing campaigns. But I guess considering early misrepresentations about iPod battery failure, lawsuits against bloggers, Apple DRM lock-in, infringing on other’s patent and trademarks, allegations of worker abuses at the company's factories, and all the endless similar cases of litigation on record at EFF, Apple starts to look less like the hip, friendly company in the ads and more like a soulless business machine that isn’t going to let ethics or commitments to counterculture ideals stand between them and customer’s wallets.
Okay I get it your unhappy about Apple. Do you ever comment on the topic of the post or just see Apple and repeat a comment you've made many times before. Google and other search engines don't follow the comments made on this blog so if that is the reason for the repeated posts it does no good. If you can't at least make an attempt at staying on topic don't post your comments. If you have a blog and have written on your favorite topic. Send me the link and I'll post it.
