If you consider "zen" to be hysterically orgasmic laughter then you're right on. Male hookers, Ted the sexual beast and a musty haze of meth induced extacy is everything Jesus could have dreamed of while pent up with the apostles.
I hope that clip spreads like wildfire across the internets.

I, for one, wish I was evangelical. I mean, my faith discourages premarital sex and mind-altering drugs, and it gets pretty hard to be chaste when the crazy evangelicals in the next dorm over start their wild drunken "Praise the Lord" sex orgies.

Dude, I got an idea: why don't you upload your movies to youtube?
.FLV loads faster than .MOV, and plus: on YouTube it will be available to more people to watch! :)

[regarding the updated version] nobody has a faith in which toothpaste is the best, nobody is unwilling to examine (to the point that they are offended if you ask them to) whether or not their favorite toothpaste really is the best, nobody proclaims crest to be the "chosen" toothpaste. thats the difference haggard doesnt understand, its not just a difference of toothpaste issues vs moral issues its a difference of absolutism. he doesnt just talk about moral issues, he takes his moral issues to be beyond discussion, as god has decreed it to be so. homosexuality is wrong because it says so in the bible, theres no opportunity for discussion there. one never really gets tired of the irony of his particular situation. he is so incapable of examining his faiths (which would mean exposing them to doubt), that he would sacrifice/deny himself for them. thats the pathology of religion. religion is spitting in the face of god when it denies our humanity, or when it denies the sacredness of doubt.

People occasionally upload OGM videos to YouTube. That's how I actually came across this site.
Download the videos you like, open an account at YouTube and upload the videos. Just make sure to give credit where credit is due :)

Christ and Crest, equal in importance. That's my belief, too. What a powerful mind this man has.

I don't remember there ever being a passage in the Bible saying Christians lived without struggle and never had their own moral battles.
By the same measure he used he'll be measured, but so what? We all mess up. Nobody has ever tried to deny that.

Well Mulletar, I think there's a gradient to people’s mess ups—of course people like Ray Comfort will tell you otherwise. Take George Bush for example. You don't know how often I hear from mentally infantile laypeople about how we can’t blame Bush for anything because we all make mistakes. Though the concluding statement may be true to a certain degree, this should not translate into not having the authority to hold certain people accountable for their actions. To take the extreme Godwin example if I may, replace Haggard with Hitler and I think we shouldn’t see any problem from holding him accountable even when we ourselves screw up. There is a difference from an accidental step on someone else’s foot, to a repeated stomp followed with a cynical “whoops so sorry,” like we hear being made from hypocrites like Bush for example. People like Bush and Haggard have strived to make other people’s lives miserable—in Haggard’s case, members of his own sexual orientation. So when we discover news of them engaging in the same activities they previously condemned, you can’t help but point the finger. Now all that’s left is uncovering old footage of Haggard putting his foot in his mouth (probably spilling with someone else’s “seed” [put intended]).

On the belief in toothpaste question and equating that to moral choices... Nobody is out there trying to legislate which toothpaste you should choose. Asshole.
Glad he got what was coming to him.

When I first saw him last year in Richard Dawkins' "Root of All Evil" I just hated his guts. What a pain in the a!! But after what happened to him afterwards I just feel sorry for him. I shouldn't, I know. But I can't help myself. What a sad sonofab*h...

On toothpaste- ONLY insecure people and tons of people raised by the typical society of marketing-insecurity-so-you-buy-our-produ ct will feel offended if you think crest is better.
I like Listerine, and if you like Scope, hey good for you. I don't feel offended by it in the least. What a wrong thing to say by someone who is expected to promote a foundation for self confidence as a leader.
But hey, we all know by now it all had a happy ending :-)
I wonder how many of those "studs" that have sex with their wives everyday are "bi curious."

Hey Mulletar, I am really sorry but, someone who actively preaches and pursues the condemnation of something, when they are themselves a huge sinner of exactly those things, and HIDES it constantly, doesn't hold much of my sympathy.
I can understand an alcoholic telling me to drink is bad and openly admits he or she is an alcoholic.
I don't have much compassion for someone who condemns me for a drink, even reports something to the cops in some state were it was illegal to drink for some weird reason, when he is doing the same thing and is an alcoholic (for the record: I don't even drink, this is just an example).
But since the Bible is oh so flexible, you could point to the Bible where it says that there will be many false prophets in the future, the devil dressed in sheep's cloth. If we are going to use the Bible to condemn homosexuality how about throwing the full book at him for being the devil in sheep's clothing?
Why the double standard.

that's a shame... It really frustrates me because all people see in Christianity are the mess ups. If only every one could understand what it is to be a true Christian they would see that there is nothing else in the world that makes you feel the way God does. That's how I know there is a God because the things I've seen and felt, there is no other explanation. It wouldn't be so bad if every one would keep an open mind because stubborn people are bashing Christians for being stubborn.

Jeremy, most of the people that post here, as far as I can tell, are pretty rational, thoughtful people. I'm pretty sure we realize there are good people out there that are Christians. Those that really "get" the real message of "love thy neighbor" etc etc. I personally like those people. I'm a "do what thou wilt" kinda person. I, myself, am not a Christian, or a Theist at all (but my beliefs are my own and I won't get into those). I have many good Christian friends who live their lives and let others live theirs. They are intelligent, rational (for the most part) people that simply need, or maybe just want, a little faith to carry them through this difficult existence. I can hardly fault them for that. And I don't think anyone here does either (well, maybe a few people).
From what I can tell, the people here are not concerned with those types of Christians. If only all Christians were like that. But they are not. What is at issue here is hypocrisy, indoctrination, lack of compassion and lack of tolerance. We can debate till the end of eternity whether or not there is a god, maybe there is, maybe there isn't. And it's a worthwhile discussion for some people to have. But the fact is that there are these people like Rev. Haggert who are spreading intolerance towards others in society when they themselves ARE those people. And it's not just that, anyone that is spewing hate speech and using the bible to justify it is just plain manipulative. The people here are simply pointing out the flaws in the argument.
They are not trying to convert people, they are just trying to get people to think. Any doctrine worth its salt will stand up to critical thinking (maybe that is why so many religious people in general won't do it... and not just Christians either, so don't say I'm being unfair to Christians, I'm an equal opportunity religious critic). If you want to believe in a god, fine, it's a personal choice. If there is a god, rest assured, he/she/it doesn't need you, or anyone, to defend him.
The other issue I see addressed here, and so often touted by the Christian posters is that religion is needed in order to maintain an ethical society. This idea must be shattered if any real discussion is to ever be held between believers and non-believers. I'm sorry, but Christians don't have a monopoly on ethics. Ethics are ethics. Morals are morals. The only Christian ethic/moral I can think of is "no sex before marriage". Disregarding this "ethic" is hardly something that will bring society down to its knees. People have been doing "that" since the beginning of mankind. There are good reasons people don't lie, cheat, steal, murder, etc etc etc, and it's not because the church told them it was bad. But that, is another discussion. Sorry for the wandering train of though here.
Thanks for humoring me;-)
