The serious idea behind this clip seems very relevant now. Lately I have been having many conversations with friends about how destructively consumerist our Western society has become. (The holidays always heighten this fact, and the past season was the worst yet.) And now here are some Christians comparing some supposed miracle to a Mercedes in the driveway. Why am I not at all surprised?
haha, thats funny, but bring back craig kilborn please!
Religious fundamentalism plus consumerism: Leave your brain at the door and pick up your crayons.
There is no God but God, and Janis Joplin is God's prophet:
all together now, sing it:
Lord, won't you buy me a Mercedes Benz... my friends all have Porsches; I must make amends...
Demonstrating once again that gods are created by the believers, not the gods they choose to believe in.
I guess Jesus and St. Paul must be pretty pissed by this marraige of church and mammon.
Or would be if they weren't long dead.
Demonstrating once again that gods are created by the believers, not the other way around.
If they weren't dead and turned to dust, Jesus and St. Paul would likely be right pissed at this marriage of Christianity and the Church of Mammon.
Read the book oh ye christians. You can't serve two masters, ride two horses, or serve your god and mammon. Yet you persist in that folly and preach to the world to join you in it. What's with that?
There are no real Christians watching this - at least not with computers they own.
King James Bible, Luke 18:22: Now when Jesus heard these things, he said unto him, Yet lackest thou one thing: sell all that thou hast, and distribute unto the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, follow me.
