Worst Person

I don't know who inside the National Science Teachers Association makes the decisions or what criteria they use but what is clear is the method is not in the least bit scientific. They really should be ashamed of themselves, and those who are members of this organization should not stand for it. Science based on who donates money to you is just as despicable as science based on religious beliefs. You can write the NSTA here and let them know how you feel. Laurie David, producer of An Inconvenient Truth responds The NSTA responds.

Larry David's wife's name is Laurie David?

Gotta go find myself a girl named Christina.

Will the Inconvienent Truth be available to rent at Blockbuster videos in Canada any time soon? I still haven't seen it yet.

greed vs. science

I guess there are atheist wars after all. I'm an athiest and I don't see a problem with people cashing in when they can. Survival of the fittest. There's no afterlife people, so who cares about your reputation when the worms eat you. Stop being all moral like we have to accept science over money.

Wait a second... We get all up in arms because the NSTA is accepting donations from special interests, and then get further pissed off because they won't accept a donation from our special interest?

Come on. I mean, I'm all in favour of science and Gore's film and blah blah blah. But it's not like this movie is some sort of peer-reviewed journal or something; it's just another opinion piece carrying a bunch of facts that, admit it, aren't exactly proven yet.

Enough with the double standards!

Survival of the fittest.

Herbert Spencer's distorted view of Darwin's theory led to Social Darwinism (a political rather than a scientific view). Spencer coined the term "survival of the fittest" a term that Darwin never used, and allowed Christians and secularists to embrace a false version of Darwin's theory.

Spencer's Social Darwinism tried to connect Darwin's biological theory with the field of social relations. The result of Social Darwinism resulted in many eugenics programs that began in America. [Note that Darwin never expressed the idea that natural selection could extend from biological systems to social systems.]

it's just another opinion piece carrying a bunch of facts that, admit it, aren't exactly proven yet.

If by proven you mean that the problems from Global Warming have to bombard us and have them rain havoc en masse, then I think we are doomed as a society.

Kiln, You can't be a true atheist. You need to learn from Richard Dawkins to know what we independently don't beliveve in. I bet you are one of those Neo-cons posing as an atheist.

John, you are a double standard. Your agument is baseless.

Erick, I was thinking the same thing. Kiln is obviously just a poseur. He/she is stating the view that Christians have about atheists, and not the view of any atheists I've ever known. It's obvious that Kiln is doing this in an effort to discredit the moral standing of atheists.
