Prayers Answered
Ted's prayer was answered in part in the last few days. Lies and deception have been exposed, amen. We'll have to wait until tuesday to see if the electorate is wise. As to a model for the whole world the question is what kind of a model.

(Reuters) - Disgraced U.S. evangelist Ted Haggard, a vocal opponent of gay marriage and poster boy for conservative causes, admitted on Sunday that he was guilty of "sexual immorality." Haggard, under fire since last week when a male escort said he had a sexual affair with the preacher, said in a letter read at his New Life Church that he was ashamed. "I am guilty of sexual immorality ... I am a deceiver and a liar. There is a part of my life that is so repulsive and dark that I've been warring against it all of my adult life," Haggard said in the letter, which was reads by a church overseer during a Sunday morning service. "... from time to time, the dirt that I thought was gone would resurface, and I would find myself thinking thoughts and experiencing desires that were contrary to everything I believe and teach," he said. Do any of these closeted gay-bashers ever wonder that if they could accept homosexuality, just perchance fewer people would get hurt? There'd be no reason to hide yourself; you wouldn't be running to Denver and using your middle name to make contact, blah blah blah. Then you wouldn't have to find a way to look your spouse in the eye and apologize!
Geez, Haggard's staying on message - talking about the dirty dark side of himeself. Too bad he thinks it's the same sex preference, not the lying part of himself that orally chastises those who share his predilection for same gender preference.
As a single woman, I'm all for gays being out about their lifestyle - saves me some trouble!
You're quite welcome, Norm. The sickest part of all this, perhaps (there are so many choices), is that now Haggard is going to submit himself to "rehab" at the tender mercies of Dr. James Dobson of Fuckus on the Family. How humiliating to have to follow in the footsteps of SpongeBob SquarePants.
I'm happy for the fall of this egotistical "Father Knows Best" type. His smarmy tone creeps me. What a manipulative bastard.
Like all fundamentalist preachers, with total conviction he projects his "evil" desires on to others, on to demons. Note his language now that his double life has been revealed.
He's done great damage to himself and to his herd, and the world, with the narrow-minded, fake "morality" that he pushes and wants to legislate.
I'm hoping his hypocrisy is at least going to allow someone, somewhere who's trapped in a hellhole of literal Bible-reading and boneheaded fundamentalist platitudes an opportunity. Maybe he or she can break free of the fear-mongering backwardness of right-wing Christianity, and start to think for themselves.
Imagine that.
