Countdown with Keith Olbermann

Comments
Pretty much agreed, BUT no need or reason to "declare victory" before pulling out - no rhyme nor reason - then (Nam) or now.
Let us not forget the great euphemism and masculine lesson that America learned from the great mistake of Vietnam. What went wrong? You pulled out.
I love Keith Olbermann's Special Comments. He reminds me so much of Murrow (who was just as outspoken during the "Commy Scare" as Olbermann is during today's "Terrorist Scare").
How appropriate that he closes with "Good night, and good luck."
By my recollection the Olbermann of a few years ago was focused on rather silly sparring matches with O'Reilly (a squandersome task at best) but lately he's been deadly-accurate and all riled up with verbiage to spare. I like it. I hope he gets his own TV show... oh wait, he already has that. Maybe he'll make a film that even Michael Moore would blush at.
I can easily agree with Olbermann but I cannot stomach his sermonizing approach. Almost from the start, I just want to say "Yes, I get it!". But he spends an inordinate amount of time badgering until my capacity to listen is completely spent. Can this guy ever edit his copy? Pleeeease!!!
In regards to him being like Murrow, I think that's exactly what he's doing in a fully calculated way. It's so obvious, that it's embarrassing. He's lucky to have a bozo like Bush to wipe the floor with every night, as he gets so lit in his own pointy collar brand of self-righteousness.
It's too bad CSNBC can't show his editorials in kinescope for full Murrow effect. Olbermann and Bush do share an ironic common ground: legacy of ego.
Now thanks for allowing my rant. I feel better already.
If there is one thing I can stomach, it is Olbermann's sermonizing...
Well, someone has to say what he is saying. Call it sermonizing if you like, but what he is saying is the simple truth, something that seems to have gone out of style in American culture.
Endeth? Writ? I agree with the comment above - SOMEONE EDIT THIS GUY'S COPY!!!
i admit he's a little over the top and i think the 'goodnight and good luck' thing is pretty hackish and makes me cringe at the end. but i still enjoy most things before that that phrase comes out. atleast he's not arguing with o'reilly and capt mustache anymore
OK, yes, he is over the top on his sermonizing. I agree.
But he is dead on balls accurate about that weasel in the White House.
The big problem with the theory that nothing will go wrong if we pull out is that it relies on the need to ignore Usama Bin Ladin's previous pronouncements. Al Queada was encouraged by U.S. withdrawals from Lebanon and Somalia, and were also encouraged by our inaction relating to the USS Cole bombing. Al Queada, and one cannot deny that they are all over Iraq, is not a movement bent on the liberation of Iraq, they are motivated with our destruction.
You must take that into account when considering withdrawal. They will not go away and leave us alone if we leave Iraq.
re: Nominal Me
Al Qaida's influence in Iraq is very difficult to measure, though it can easily be exaggerated if by 'influence' we mean that they're directly responsible for everything. It was recently announced by Lieutenant General Michael Mapes in a formal hearing that Al Qaida is directly responsible for 2-3% of the fighting taking place in Iraq ... that hardly counts as being all over Iraq.
