Fantastic Job Rummy
How fun, Christopher, I'm not a conservative, Hitchens and Andrew Sullivan do a little bit of Bush bashing in an interview with CNN's Paula Zahn. Hitchens characterized the president as soft in the head. Andrew for his part wants accountability and that means voting the Republicans out. In defense of the Dems he said "they didn't create this mess did they?" Indeed.

These two have got to be the oddest pair of Iraq War boosters around. But I guess that Sullivan doesn't support the war anymore. Or something. Who knows why the two are buddies. Maybe it's their shared love of being on cable news.
My favorite Hitchens/ Sullivan episode was when they were both talking to Tim Russert. Russert asked them if they were "liberal intellectuals" (gasp!). Sullivan says, 'Why no, I've always been a kind of Reagan conservative." Hitchens responds, "No, I'm not a liberal intellectual; I'm an unrecostructed Marxist. Marx's method of social analysis has never been improved upon." But there they are, a Reaganite and an old-school Marxist, the best of friends, united only by an idiotic war.
great analysis dende
Now if we can just get Ann Coulter's piece on "How to Vote for a Liberal (when you have to)" published in time...
Christopher Hitchens says that he wants to be right about all of the issues. That is probably easy to do when your opinion on every topic changes with the lunar calendar (or however he comes to his conclusions). Ditto Sullivan. For the war, against the war, Bush cheerleader, Bush critic.
I may not be right on everything but I sure nailed this one from the beginning (as did most OGM readers). I don’t sweat the small stuff.
Eight and a half minutes of Hitchens and Sullivan? No thanks.
