Apologize Mr. President
Keith has another special comment and this time he doesn't hold back.
The President of the United States owes this country an apology.A war without a clue, indeed.
It will not be offered, of course.
He does not realize its necessity.
There are now none around him who would tell him or could.

Countdown with Keith Olbermann

Everytime I hear Olbermann speak I can't help but wish the weak-kneed Democrats had the orating talent, intelligence, and eloquence to speak as he does.
Just wanted to say thanks for the continued effort. OGM always delivers the goods, and the new video dl links are great!
President Bush and Dick Cheney = war criminals.
I'm actually not one who wishes that the Dems talked like Olbermann. Politicians are supposed to represent all of their constituents, or at least the ones who have or may in the future support them. Not just the ones with a burning contempt for Bush. I want Dems to stand up to Bush, but with their votes in Congress, their use of the filibuster and their unflinching defense of liberal ideals. Not by launching into long tirades every other day.
A lot of people talk about how Kerry should have stood up for himself in 2004, but in fact he looked negative because he attacked Bush himself, while the other side left the worst accusations to surrogates. The right wing media could spread the most vile lies about Kerry, while Bush is free to joke around and be relatively positive. Some people say that it is dishonest to channell negative attacks through voices which are only independent in name. But assuming the accusations are true (and Keith's largely are), it's not good politics for a candidate who wants to represent everyone to directly and savagely attack the opposition. Leave that to people whose role is pure opposition, and no leadership.
Some of us are confusing our anger with good political strategy. Everytime I hear a liberal say, "We're sick and tired and we're not going to take it anymore," I cringe. It's not about us, it's about the country. We're not going to win support of our fellow Americans by coming off as if we are responding to personal offenses. It's as if we've adopted the Bush foreign policy attitude as our own political outlook--"we've been losing for a dozen years, all because we've been wimps." But a tougher attitude isn't worth all that much in war or in politics. The irony is that Bush understands that principle in politics but not in war.
If Kerry's gaffe the other day did anything for me personally, it made me less enthusiastic about another Kerry run (I've been positive about the idea until now). For Kerry, it seems that the lesson of 2004 was that he did not hit back hard enough. When he launches into a speech beginning with "I'm sick and tired of chickenhawks, etc." it may feel good to the left, but I don't think he's scoring any great rhetorical point. It's not personal it's business. Not hitting hard enough was never the problem. It was hitting at all. Respond to everything. You don't have to go on a long, finger-pointing rant after every attack. You just calmly make your points. Clinton never launched into harsh attacks, he just systematically responded to everything. You think Clinton wasn't sick of 12 years of Bush-Reagan in 1992? Sure he was, but he was still the candidate of optimism and positivity. If Kerry gets nominated again I fear he's going to have a swift-boat sized chip on his shoulder. Leave the long rants to others, like Keith Olbermann.
Yet another great statement made by Inquisitor Obermann.
Appreciated that Olbermann says "And to continue this slander as late as this morning, as biased or gullible or lazy newscasters nodded in sleepwalking assent."
I was watching the news yesterday and was confused about what Kerry had said. It wasn't until hearing this special comment from Keith Olbermann that I really understood. Not one Democrat who I heard, not one newscaster explained what Kerry actually said. They were all attacking him.
Thank you Keith Olbermann
I like how KO still addresses Bush as Sir even though he is laying the smackdown on him. KO is great...I love it
Edward R. Murrow is smiling in his grave.
Well out, Keith.
The ironic part is that KO thinks his viewers are so stupid he has to explain Kerry's jokes to them.
Given the time, effort, and numberous repug lackies that saw their audience as so stupid they could turn what Kerry said into something Kerry didn't say, it was neccesary and proper for him to explain the situation. You had to think for a long time to find that clever excuse, didn't you syngas? Getting harder and harder to defend the criminals you support, isn't it?
Kerry could have cleared it all up pretty quick and without an apology but his ego just wouldn't let him. When your campaign strategy is to call the other side stupid, it's not hard to make yourself look stupid. Kerry is living proof.
Let's see how Obama acts on such remarks.
