I'm sorry, but how is in possible in any way that voting machines could have "programming errors"? It just doesn't make sense to me, and this is coming from someone that almost failed an introductory java course that had nothing harder than a three-step string command.
Diebold must be making incredulous margins off of these bullsh*t computers.

Check out today's Washington Post article on Sam Harris. Pretty awful if you ask me. The one positive aspect of the author's dismissive, derisive bias is that he articulates the opposition's arguments. Still, it reads like Fox News copy.

Exactly. It's so incredibly frustrating that elections board officials don't really understand how they sound when they say things like: "Well, I'm sure we'll have it resolved by the next election."
We have computerized voting machines that make errors and no one has any idea who is responsible and how it happened. That's a situation ripe for abuse. Everything is just another 'glich' that came from who-knows-where. I think that the state head of elections should resign over this, I think the company that provided the machines should be sued by the state, and it should be investigated. Bad calls in college football games have more serious consequences than screwed up ballots in an actual election. The guy who wins the Senate race in VA may decide whether you or someone you know lives or dies. "Better luck next time."

As a computer science student, I can't comprehend how computerized voting machines could make such basic errors. Such programming bugs should be the first thing any competent programmer would look for and immediately fix!!!
Somehow there is a missing link in the illogicality of the situation.
