Is it REALLY true that Fox labeled Foley a Democrat? That'd be crossing the border in a most ugly, ugly way. puke

You know, I can't recall any time in recent memory that I've seen a Congressman's political party mislabeled...and yet it's happened with both AP and Faux News in this case? I'm dissapointed that there isn't more mention of the duplicitous spin tactic(s) being used by Republicans in major media. Oh well, I'll take what I can get in Turd Ferguson, even if it is a comedy show.

Yes the mislabeling really happened. It's also happened before..always fox news, and always when it's a big controversy involving a republican. Tom Delay amongst others has been a 'democrat' on fox news. It's NOT a coincdental oversight, but an ongoing problem of malicious intent.

"Is it REALLY true that Fox labeled Foley a Democrat"
FOX knows how bad this really is. It really hurts and they're flailing around. The fact that Media Matters-type stuff like this made it to the late night talk shows also really shows that it is open season on conservatives right now. It's like 1998, except with a bad war, an idiot president, and this time the scandal is theirs.

I agree, it's not good for them. Things like these will stick. Falsely labeling a congressman at this moment, THE congressman everybody's talking about, is bad. Very bad. And it's not a mistake, otherwise they'd either have corrected it the second time or appologized for it.
Fox is powerful and has it's share of viewers (too many) - but today it's also a laughing stock. When Clinton told them they'd never ask tough questions from any junta member, nobody disputed him but Fox itself. Nobody. This is mainstream now. Nobody but the kool aid drinkers believe Fox.
And that's a good thing.

this is actually really creepy. to just scoff and say "it's fox news, it's what they do" is becoming pretty normal, but think of all the people who actually think it's real. they still vote... in larger numbers than we do, and their votes actually count.
