Let Me Repeat
One report contradicted the Bush administration’s evidence of a close relationship between Iraq and Al Qaeda.
Saddam 'had no link to al-Qaeda'
There is no evidence of links between Iraqi ex-leader Saddam Hussein and al-Qaeda, says the US SenateSenate:Saddam saw al-Qaida as threat
Saddam Hussein regarded al-Qaida as a threat rather than a possible ally, a Senate report says, contradicting assertions President Bush has used to build support for the war in Iraq.Senate report: No Saddam, al-Qaida link
Long-awaited analysis also finds that anti-Saddam group misled U.S.
There’s no evidence Saddam Hussein had ties with al-Qaida, according to a Senate report issued Friday on prewar intelligence that Democrats say undercuts President Bush’s justification for invading Iraq.
Bush administration officials have insisted on a link between the Iraqi regime and terror leader Abu Musab al-Zarqawi. Intelligence agencies, however, concluded there was none.

Yes, brainwashing yourself is really hard.
51 million Americans voted for this guy? He just used the word propoganda in connection with the word truth! What are they idiots?
Like any of this is going to make a difference.
Two weeks from now, and the right wing will still believe the link between Al-Qaeda and Saddam. It's pointless.
I don't think he was trying to brainwash himself: he was trying to brainwash everyone else aswell, and has achieved good results, at least in his fan-base.
It's too late. Hasn't anyone noticed that unless useful information surfaces in the moment one "issue" is in style, it's useless for it to surface? The damage has already been done: two, three weeks of marketing, and they have brainwashed enough people and made enough people uncertain about it for them to get away with anything.
It's the problem with modern media: being too focused in the now, when they skip to the next subject all the old issues will be deemed as "done and archived" in the minds of the public.
oh my god, he actually said "catapult the propaganda". Does this guy not realize the propaganda has negative connotations, and that even if that's what he's doing, he probably shouldn't use the word. And what audience is this to clap. What a world.
I'm suprised no one has brought up The Daily Show where he literally responded to the question "What has the war in Iraq got to do with the attacks on 9/11" with the word "Nothing". Unless that was edited together out of context I don't understand how this hasn't been picked up on.
Wait... what's the deal with the video? Was it edited to make Bush say "catapult the propaganda"? It seemed a little out of sync on my computer...
don't you care about the fact you were lied to?
no the videos not edited. i remember back when he said that. it does seem unreal that people would actually clap for it though.
The other 6.5 billion of us must be such a nuisance for him. I should just admit that I'm an insect and let him squash me.
I'm sure Disney-ABC-GOP will be doing the movie rewrite of this soon, to show the "official true story" TM with Clinton, Osama and Saddam laughing it up in the hot tub with Monica...
The other 6.5 billion of us are considered self-flagellating (hi jonathan becker and average joe!) anti-American commies. :D
yes, I remeber writing about catapulting the propaganda, when it was originally aired.
I think he meant "catapult over the propaganda" in this clip. That is, it's the rhetoric of his critics that's propaganda, not his own.
Is that part of repeating the message to catapult the propaganda?
Seems to be a bug of some sort. happened in other posts too
bush is saying that iraq is -now- part of the war on terror. I'm not sure how much AQ really cares about Iraq, but bush apparently thinks they care about it a lot
I see that this site is adhering strictly to the liberal policy of "Your voice is important, as long as you agree with me."
Congratulations, Norm! You've become your own enemy.
note from the management:
I'm adhering to the policy that a pattern of personal attacks will get your comments deleted. We have disagreed on many occasions and your comments have not been deleted. Your charge is bullshit and you know it. Follow the rules or fuck off. Is that clear enough for you.
bush says that if we leave iraq, al qaeda will topple the government there and will take over. this despite the fact that al qaeda isnt popular even among the sunnis. an overwhelming percentage of the violence comes from non-al qaeda sectarian militias and etc. thats who hold the power, not al qaeda. al qaeda in iraq has already been defeated. we are fighting a civil war and calling it something else, so we dont have to change strategy or something. a couple days ago a news story in the washington post said rumsfeld ordered people under him not to plan for post-war iraq, maybe they dont wnat to win. winning means the end of war after all.
even if they are actually trying to win, their definition of win is a stable functioning democracy. so plan on staying for a few decades.
I'm not going to discuss individual abuse of the comment policy in the comments. If anyone wants to discuss their particular case. I suggest you contact me via email.
